Aloha, all!
It's been a while since I've shared a card that I've made with one of the folded card Thinlits by Stampin' Up! For today I pretty much didn't have a choice as it's time for Sketch Frenzy Friday, and this week's sketch looks just like one of those thinlits. So off I went to dig them out of my stash!
I decided to use the Label Card Thinlit for my project. My decision was one of necessity rather than of choice as I'm in the middle of reorganizing my craft room to hold all the new products that Stampin' Up! will be adding to my collection come June 1st! My retiring stamp sets are all off in a box somewhere and other products are piled up to the point that I really don't know where anything is. By Monday I'll be in much better shape. But there I was just yesterday trying to find stuff to use on today's cards!
Once I came across the For the Birds Stamp Set, I knew right away that the little gal in the nest would fit perfectly in a small Labels Collection Framelit that would coordinate with the shape on the Label Card Thinlit. From there it was picking paper and colors to match!
I chose Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper for this card because I had this particular sheet left that looked like it would complement the little bird stamps as well as any paper would. That made it easy to pick Melon Mambo, Island Indigo and Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink to color in the stamps that I'd stamped on Whisper White Cardstock. For the card base and the mats for the two stamped images, I used Island Indigo Cardstock, and then added some Melon Mambo 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon to tie the project together!
Oh, and this project has an inside as well as an outside! That's what makes these card thinlits so much fun!
The actual thinlit is smaller than this card – the third decorated panel is an extra that I added in. I have instructions for doing this in my last post using these thinlits here. There's a piece of plain white printer paper inside the card on which to write a note.
If you went to look at a picture of the Label Card Thinlit, you would not have found the "xoxo" die – that one is in the Circle Card Thinlit. Both of these Thinlit collections have dies that not only can be used with the other thinlit, but they can be used for lots of project. Just look at the "hi" I used in the card featurig the Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper last week! That is from the Label Card Thinlit!
The only product in this card that will be retiring with the new Stampin' Up! catalog coming out in June is the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper. The stamp set, the ribbon and both Thinlits will be in the new catalog. Hooray – love it! xoxo!! Here is a recap of the products that I've mentioned that are in this card:
