Handmade Halloween Cards

A Halloween Pinwheel Tower Card

November 3, 2021 by Robin

Aloha, all! Oops! This was supposed to go live two weeks ago! But since I’m busy getting ready to move from Hawai'i to Florida (more on that soon), I thought I’d go ahead and let it post a few days after Halloween! Finally I'm getting to show you some Pinwheel Tower Cards. For Halloween this year, I've made two of them, each a different size. This is the one I'm calling the "Short Pinwheel … [Read more...] about A Halloween Pinwheel Tower Card

Festive & Bright – For Halloween?

October 15, 2021 by Robin

Aloha, all! When I see a stamp set in a Stampin' Up! holiday season catalog and its name is, "Festive & Bright," I think "Christmas." But the stamp set in the current Stampin' Up! July - December Mini Catalog with that name also has some dynamite Halloween stamps. The stamp that I'm featuring in today's post is one of those - the Festive & Bright Stamp Set. And I almost forgot I owned it. … [Read more...] about Festive & Bright – For Halloween?

This Halloween Pinwheel Tower Card is Taller!

October 4, 2021 by Robin

Aloha, all! I’m clea Ning up some blog posts that went out of order while I was on a house-hunting trip. So the “taller” refers to my post on November 3rd. Confused? Me, too! In my last article I described how I made my first Halloween Pinwheel Tower Card. I'm not getting into so much detail this time. But I do want to show you another version of this fun fold technique. An Invitation (A2) … [Read more...] about This Halloween Pinwheel Tower Card is Taller!

A Spooky Tower Card!

September 29, 2021 by Robin

Aloha, all! And welcome to another fun - but spooky! - edition of Island Hopping. I've been chatting about my Island Hopping friend, Cheryl Hamilton, in my last few articles. This time, we're sharing projects for one of my favorite times for card-giving, Halloween! First I'm hoping you'll enjoy my story of making this fun fold card. Then I'll send you on over to Cheryl's blog to see what she has … [Read more...] about A Spooky Tower Card!

It’s Time for Halloween Cards!

September 22, 2021 by Robin

Aloha, all! Where has September gone???? Well, to begin, I spent several days on the island of Maui crafting with my friend, Cheryl Hamilton's, demonstrator team. I can't even begin to tell you what fun that was. But once I got back, I spent most of the next two weeks getting ready for a trip my husband and I are taking beginning this coming weekend. We'll be in Florida and North Carolina for … [Read more...] about It’s Time for Halloween Cards!

Tuesday’s Tips: Move Those Layers Around!

October 20, 2020 by Robin

Aloha, all! This is the third in a series about layering techniques. We began with some basic concepts in calculating the size of layers as you build a card (click here). Then last week I offered some hints on getting ideas for layered layouts from both the Internet and the Stampin' Up! Catalog (click here). Today I'll go over how to take one layout and rearrange its elements to three different … [Read more...] about Tuesday’s Tips: Move Those Layers Around!

Throwback Thursday: Halloween from a Christmas Layout

October 15, 2020 by Robin

Aloha, all! As I've mentioned before, this is a week I'm making Halloween Cards. But, when I went to look for Halloween Cards that I've posted in years past, I stumbled upon a really old Christmas Card. As I looked at it, I realized that it's a card made with the old Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio app. Hmmm. The Era of My Digital Studio It wasn't until after I worked on my 2020 CASEd … [Read more...] about Throwback Thursday: Halloween from a Christmas Layout

It’s a Halloween Fun Fold!

September 15, 2020 by Robin

Aloha, all! This week we're continuing with my Tuesday's Techniques theme for September - Fun Folds. As a refresher, I decided that the folds for September are going to be easy to construct and are also folds that allow a card to stand up on a table or shelf. I love showing off a card that a friend sends me. And I'm so disappointed when I have to lay it down because there's no way it can stand … [Read more...] about It’s a Halloween Fun Fold!

Throwback Thursday: Yes, a Slimline Card!

September 3, 2020 by Robin

Aloha, all! When I'm searching for something for my Throwback Thursday posts, I try to find something that I posted in a blog at about the same time of the year as I'm posting the update. While today's original project was posted in October rather than September, it caught my eye because I realized the moment that I looked at the picture that it was a slimline card, made to fit a #10 envelope. … [Read more...] about Throwback Thursday: Yes, a Slimline Card!

Happy Halloween – Part 2!

October 31, 2017 by Robin

Aloha, all!      And Happy Halloween to all of you who enjoy this fun, but sometimes spooky, celebration.      Yesterday's card featured the Stampin' Up! Cat Punch, and so does today's!      But the background for this card is somewhat different from yesterday's, especially in that … [Read more...] about Happy Halloween – Part 2!

Happy Halloween – Part 1!

October 30, 2017 by Robin

Aloha, all!      As Halloween has approached, I haven't done much in the way of card-making because I'm still dealing with the repercussions of having a broken foot. That means that I've pretty much been concentrating on making my Christmas Cards because I may be out of commission for a while in late Fall if I have to have surgery. And Christmas cards HAVE … [Read more...] about Happy Halloween – Part 1!
