I finally have finished the set of 20 cards for my friend/customer to give to her niece. We didn't want them all to be the same, but we wanted them all not to be too complicated, either!
You may recall that the first set of cards used the reverse masking technique, with a rectangle used as the mask. For this set, I used a mask made from cutting the template with one of the Labels Collection Framelits.
Pause for a quick product note: The new magnetic platform for the Sizzix Big Shot is FABULOUS! That magnet worked beautifully, and I only had to cut the framelits shape once. No mistakes!!. I centered it to death, and the framelit did not more one dot from the place where I put it!! End of product note.
Here is the group of cards I made for the second part of the All Occasion Set. Again, the greetings were "Thinking of You" from the Stamp Set, Wetlands; and "Happy Birthday Greetings" and "Thanks so much" from the Hostess Stamp Set, Simply Sketched.
For these cards, I continued to use some of Stampin' Up!'s newest In Colors. This time the colors are Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana. I also switched flowers and used the flower from the older Stamp Set, Love and Sympathy. I stamped it as well as the three greetings using Basic Gray Classic Ink. To give the card a bit of bling, I added a Basic Rhinestone Jewel in the center of the flower.
I had so much fun with the reverse masking technique – which I'm getting a bit better at! – that I decided to use it for another customer's card. I'll post it later next week after she's had a chance actually to use it.
The third set of cards for the set of 20 total did NOT use the reverse masking technique. But I did have some fun with a new Stampin' Up! Set, and I'll post that in a day or two. I'm having SOOOO much fun with the new Stampin' Up! colors and products. I hope you are, too!
