This may be the last time for a week or two that I share a project that uses the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack! Why? Well, because I'm a bit weary of using it in EVERYthing – and I now have a couple of brand new unopened sets of Designer Series Paper that I hope to be using before long. My next blog post won't be until next Tuesday for the SUO Challenge DesignTeam. And by then I'll surely have that paper opened and in use!
For today's project I'm again featuring what I think will be one of my favorite color combinations of this set of Stampin' Up! In Colors 2014-2015 – Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey.
You probably recognize the wavy print on the horizontal piece of Designer Paper – it's the same design as the Lost Lagoon strip that I used in Monday's project. This time it's serving as a horizontal element on a card with portrait orientation, so there was plenty of length to fit the card front. And doesn't that vertical strip of paper look as if I'd just sponged it all over with dots from my Sponge Daubers? I may have to try this design with other colors and my sponge daubers, for sure!
The flower is from one of the new Hostess Stamp Set, Bloom with Hope. To color the stamp in, I used a Blender Pen and some Blackberry Bliss Ink that I'd transfered onto the lid of the stamp case. I made the color darker towards the top inside of the flower and used less and less color on my Blender Pen as I worked things around. I added in a bit of Hello Honey Ink to the center of the flower, too. To finish the flower, I cut it out by hand and layered in on a scrap of Hello Honey Cardstock punched with a 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch.
This is another great layout, but not my own this time. Because this is Friday, it's time for Sketch Frenzy Friday, and this is a Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch! Love the circle element where the horizontal and vertical layers meet! Of course, they had to be tied together, and once again I used some fo the Blackberry Bliss 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.
And so my week of simple sketches comes to an end. I'm back and home, but working frantically this weekend on a welcome banner from a group that will be coming to visit our Duplicate Bridge Club on Sunday. Hopefully I'll have a chance to photograph it once I get it done! If I do, I'll be sure to share it here.
