Last Minute Valentines!

Robin · February 13, 2017 ·

Aloha, all!

Do you remember last week when I said I had a bunch of birthdays for which I needed cards and I scrambled to make something that looked nice but didn't take much time? Well, that was so easy – and so much fun! – that I did it again. Yup, same basic design for my last minute bunch of Valentine Cards!

For these cards, I used three of the lighter colored patterns from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack, lining them up across a layer of Real Red Cardstock.  Then I stamped the "Happy Valentine's Day" greeting from the Sealed With Love Stamp Set, and die cut it and a Real Red mat for it, using the Sweet & Sassy Framelits set. I added a heart from the Brights Collection Candy Dots, and, voilá – I have my card. Quick and easy! It will be even easier for you because I've made myself a layout sketch. Yes, it's for me when I run into a need for something quick in the future. And since I have it all done and there's no newsletter for several weeks, I'll just share it right here with you!

To get those vertical strips lined up fairly perfectly, I set the Real Red layer on my grid paper and found the center point along the bottom of the layer. Then I adhered the center strip aligning it so that its center matched the center of the Red layer, centering it top to bottom. After than, I just adhered the right and left strips so that they were evenly spaced between the center strip and the right and left edges of the Red layer. For both this card and the birthday cards last week, I adhered the center greeting element using Stampin' Dimensionals. Just that little bit of height at the center really makes a nice difference in the look of the card.

Here are the products I used in today's project. Don't forget that the Valentine products are still going to be available even after Valentine's Day. I have no doubt that this year's Valentine products are some that I'm going to keep around for next year (at least!). Click on any of the products to add them to your Stampin' Up! order!!

I have been stamping and paper crafting for over 30 years, and have been an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 11 years.

My favorite part of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is teaching others to enjoy crafting themselves. Not only do I conduct classes in person, I write tutorials for teaching anyone who has internet access. No matter if you're in my area on the east side of Hawaii's Big Island or anywhere else in the world, let me know if there's something you'd like to learn!
