I know I’ve shared a card with this design before, but I’ll be darned if I can find it in my archives. Why would I want to find it when I’ve made it already for today’s post? Because I cannot for the life of me remember what I called the design. So, while I’m sure that someone is going to come up with whatever I or other stampers have posted before, for today I’m designating this card design as a Diagonal Fold Peek-a-Boo Card.
It’s a Peek-a-Boo card because the top layer of Designer Series Paper is folded back diagonally to show off the design of the layer beneath it. In this case, I used a sheet from the brand new Woven Thread Designer Series Paper (DSP). The best feature of this DSP set is that it shows off all of the newest colors in the Stampin’ Up! Color Family.
In this sheet you can see the new In Colors, Rococco Rose (the light-ish pink in the center of some of the diamond shapes), Seaside Spray (the light blue), and Terracotta Tile. I particularly like this sheet of paper because, when I turn the other side of the paper back so that it shows over the front design print, it has a smooth design featuring one of the colors in the print.
For the Peek-a-boo part of this design, I texturized the bottom layer of Night of Navy Cardstock with the Basket Weave 3D Embossing Folder. It’s a “peek-a-boo” because otherwise you’d never have seen that texture!
If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you have to know that one of my favorite things to do is NOT to put things away. With my new tiny crafting area, you’d think I’d have changed – and I’ve really tried. But not on the day I was making this card and the card I showed off in my last post. Yes, I put away the lighthouse stuff from Monday’s card, but the Braided Linen Trim, Stitched Labels Dies, and the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set did NOT get put away. So, hey, why not use them for this project, too!
I hope you’ve had a chance to look through the new Stampin’ Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalog by now and have seen some of the fab new products that Stampin’ Up! is offering this year. My absolute favorite new product, the storage system, isn’t available until next month. But let me tell you, it’s definitely worth the wait! But most of the other products are already flying out the door at Stampin’ Up! by now. I can hardly wait to get my first real order in another week or so!
