Aloha, all!
Have you gone through your Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog yet? I’ve been through it a dozen times or more, and I still find new things every time I peruse it. While I love the catalog and the way it brings all the suites together, I do NOT love that there is no index that can lead me to, for example, all the ribbons in the catalog. So today I’m going to start to try to fix that for myself – and for you!
Our catalog subject today is Ribbons.
There are nine ribbons in this year’s Holiday catalog, and they’re scattered everywhere. To make it easy, I’m going to start at the very beginning.
Starting on page 7, you can find the Garden Green 3/8” Double-Stitched Ribbon (150434). This ribbon is Garden Green and white with Garden Green stitching along both edges. Since it is narrow, it will be perfect for tags and small bows on your cards.
Also, on page 7 is the Real Red 1” Ruched Ribbon (150435). This ribbon is wide and puffy. I have tied it into a bow, a puffy bow. I think this ribbon will be perfect for bows on packages even large packages, and to use flat or just a flat fold on a card.
The Shaded Spruce/Gold 3/8” Striped Ribbon (149597) is found on page 13. This ribbon is featured and coordinates with the Wrapped in Plaid Suite. The gold stripe appears on both sides of the ribbon.
The Let It Snow Suite shown on page 19 includes the Real Red 1/8” Curly Ribbon (150426). This is like soft, fluffy yarn similar to a light medium weight knitting yarn. Perfect for use with the warm looking scarves on snowmen, and a great accent for cards using the Winter Knit 3D Embossing Folder.
One of my favorite ribbons in this Holiday catalog is the Cherry Cobbler 3/8” Diagonal Stripe Ribbon (150439) found on page 25. This is one that I ordered. I am pleased with how easily it ties into a bow. It is soft but holds its shape well. I discovered that on one side of ribbon, the white stripe is prominent while on the other side, the focus is on the Cherry Cobbler stripe. See the difference between the two bows in the picture.
The next ribbon is the ½” Classic Weave Ribbon (150394) that is part on the Brightly Gleaming Suite and can be found on page 31. This Very Vanilla ribbon is unique in that the words ‘Merry Christmas’ are printed on the ribbon in copper in a couple of different fonts. I have seen one demo share that you can color the ribbon with reinkers and the copper print is not affected.
If you love the Seaside Spray In Color as much as I do, you will LOVE the Seaside Spray ¼” Metallic Ribbon (150446) found on page 41. It is part of the Feels Like Frost Suite and it’s gorgeous. The word metallic might suggest that the ribbon is rather stiff but this is not the case. It is soft and ties in a beautiful bow. I have ended up ordering two rolls of this one! See photo 3.
Two more ribbons to go. The next ribbon is found on page 47. The Come to Gather Ribbon Combo Pack (150456) comes with one spool of Crumb Cake 5/8” ribbon with a satin edge and a spool of Cajun Craze Linen Thread.
And the last of the ribbons is the Basic Black 3/8” Scalloped Edge Ribbon (150449). This is a cotton ribbon and is so cute! It is featured as part of the Monster Bash Suite on page 53.
These are the ribbons that I already have from the catalog. So far I’ve already used all but one of them (the black will have its day!) Believe me, you’re going to love any of these ribbons that you buy! Let me know which are your favoritess
Happy Stamping!
