Starting Our New Catalogs With Some Coloring!

Robin · January 5, 2019 ·

Aloha, all!

This week, Stampin’ Up! released its newest seasonal catalog along with with its annual Sale-a-Bration Brochure. For me this year’s Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration Brochure dual release is extra special as I missed the 2018 Holiday Catalog as I was basically out of business without a permanent home.

Now, though, I’m somewhat back in business and I’m ready to start crafting and selling wonderful Stampin’ Up! products once again. I’m still unsure where everything is in my craft room. Yes, I’ve labeled drawers and cabinets. But for some reason I’m just not seeing what’s printed on those labels. It’s like I used to call my friend, Marcie, to hop on over to help me find the Paper Snips that I knew had to be on the table in front of me. She’d come over and pick them up and hand them to me. True friendship! And we did some crafting as long as she was there.

I did find, though, the one stamp set/punch bundle I pre-ordered from the Occasions Catalog. The bundle includes the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and the new Butterfly Duet Punch. With a couple of items that carried over from the Holiday Catalog added to my order, I qualified to order FOR FREE the coordinating Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper that’s in the Sale-a-Bration brochure.

If you’ve been following me much at all over the years, you have to know that I much prefer a clean and simple layered card to one that’s filled with images. But when I saw this sheet in the pack of Designer Series Paper, I immediately got the urge to get some of my Stampin’ Blends out of their drawer.

(An aside: Maybe one reason I can’t find things is that I label them incorrectly. The label on the Stampin’ Blends drawer says, “Blendabilities.” That product is a long ago and long-gone Stampin’ Up! product. I’m just shaking my head.)

Back to the card. I just colored in one of the large butterflies on this printed paper using my Pool Party Light and Dark Blends, as well as the Light Bermuda Bay. The smaller butterflies were what really helped me enjoy making this card. I used the Butterfly Duet Punch to punch out two small printed butterflies from the design on the back of this paper. Yep, the punch goes with the Designer Series Paper! The third smaller butterfly – the one colored in Pool Party – was stamped using the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.

So I got my coloring urge out of the way and ended up with a card that, while it’s not exactly my style, I’ll be happy to send off to a friend!

The Occasions Catalog is ready for ordering any time you’d like to look it over. Just click on the picture over on the right of this post. If you order ANY Stampin’ Up! products from ANY catalog or the clearance rack, you qualify for something FREE in the 2019 Sale-a-Bration Brochure. If you’re interested in any of the products I used for today’s project, just click on one of the pictures below – or on the catalog pictures to the right – to be whisked away to my personal Stampin’ Up! store!

I’ll be stamping some more projects using these same products and sharing them over the next few days. I hope you’ll be enjoying some stamping this weekend, too!

I have been stamping and paper crafting for over 30 years, and have been an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 11 years.

My favorite part of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is teaching others to enjoy crafting themselves. Not only do I conduct classes in person, I write tutorials for teaching anyone who has internet access. No matter if you're in my area on the east side of Hawaii's Big Island or anywhere else in the world, let me know if there's something you'd like to learn!
