My friends always tell me how much they enjoy getting a card from me in the mail. But I get extra kudos when the card I send is something they can use to decorate their desk or book shelf. One of the designs that fits this is the Easel Fold Card. It’s a card that folds nicely to fit into an envelope. But once it’s opened and read, you can prop one side of it up against an element on the other side. What you end up with is a lovely picture or sentiment that greets you every time you glance at it.
Some Easel Cards even make that “easel” a practical addition to your desk by holding a pad of sticky notes at the ready or note paper that’s so easy to pick out of a pocket in the card. This tutorial booklet has instructions for making four different kinds of Easel Cards and includes two (and, in one case, three) samples showing different ideas for using each of the four patterns.
Whether your friends receive an easel card that holds papers or sticky notes, or just sits straight up – or at an angle! – to greet them each time they see it, I’m sure they’ll love it!
Enjoy the tutorials!
