Aloha, all!
When I heard about the July 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit, the first word that caught my attention was fireflies. Oh my goodness! Do I have amazingly fond memories of running up and down the hill in front of my childhood home in Maryland chasing “lightning bugs” with a jar with holes punched in the lid. My brother and sister and I never had so much fun as when we were playing in the summer.
Fireworks, Fireflies and Ferris Wheels
The title of the July 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit is Summer Nights, with the tagline in the title of this paragraph. The 9 cards in the kit also remind me of summer vacations as they’re Post Card style cards – with envelopes! I’ll definitely be mailing them out to friends this summer. I especially love it when we get decorative envelopes so I don’t have tgo do anything extra myself.
Also part of this fun kit are some fun die-cut tealight paper bags that can be used for lot of different things. One thought I had when I looked at one was that they’d be delightful to hold battery-operated tealights. Maybe that’s why they’re called, “Tealight Bags”?
What About “Real” Cards?
But what about those of us who really, really like full sized cards? With this kit there’s an Add On available. For only $10, we can buy an add-on kit of 24 Traditional Sized cards and envelopes. This add on will be available on July 1st, and you can bet I’ll have an order ready for those babies! There are 3 pre-designs of watercolor-style card bases. The Paper Pumpkin team tested the add-on kit with some Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. They reported that there were enough pieces in the Paper Pumpkin Kit itself to make an additional 20 cards with the add-on kit.
But be sure to know that you do NOT need the add-on kit to make your wonderful July Paper Pumpkin projects.
Alternatives Are Always Fun!
You can always make alternative style cards, gifts or scrapbook pages with your Paper Pumpkin kits. Here’s one alternative card that I designed from the June 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit. While I loved the cards just as they were, there was a challenge from an online group to make a card with a chevron background. The materials in the June Paper Pumpkin Kit called out, “Me, Me!” I don’t think it’s all too bad at that?
If you haven’t tried out Paper Pumpkin, why not try it this month? You can buy subscriptions even as part of Stampin’ Up! product orders. Just click on one of the links below to check any of them out! You’ll have a blast with the kits, too!
