Aloha, all!
In my last post, I introduced two of the stamps from the set that came with the September 2015 My Paper Pumpkin monthly kit. I just love this stamp set as it has lots of fun little stamps that I can use in so many different ways!
I actually wasn't going to use the set again quite yet as I had a customer ask me to make some Halloween cards for her two young (3- and 5-year old) grandchildren, and I was thinking of larger stamps than were in that set. But then I got the idea to use the cute little frog from the You're Sublime Stamp Set, and out came the witch hat from the My Paper Pumpkin set – it fit that little frog perfectly!
Oh, and wouldn't the frog just love the creepy critters on that piece of paper from the Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper set that I also used last time. I think adding the word, "Spooky," which is a die from the Season Frames Thinlits Dies set, was just such a fun addition for a 5-year old boy.
When it came to coloring froggie, I decided to use an alcohol marker because I think they make a much cleaner layer of color than water-based markers. So I went to my collection of alcohol markers and chose the Chartreuse marker from my Copic collection. Isn't that the perfect color for such a silly frog! Back to my Stampin' Up! Tangelo Twist Stampin' Write Marker to fill in the spots. Green and orange – perfect! And the Tangelo Twist color goes well with the Tangelo Twist DSP sheet from the same DSP set as the top layer sheet.
I had so much fun with this card! I'll share the 3-year old's card next. It's a completely different look – but it would have to be for a 3-year old!
Toadally awesome! I just had to smile when I saw this! So clever! I am sharing this with some friends who have that set and PP. Now, I just might have to get that Sublime set! This is what I call spooky fun!
Thanks, Chris! I did have a lot of fun with this little guy 🙂
Hi Robin! I forwarded this post to Susan Itell and she promptly made the card! She loves polka dots and used that paper which looks cute too.
