Aloha, all!
As I was looking for some Halloween card ideas last week, I came across a card on Pinterest that I really wanted to CASE. Unfortunately, Stampin' Up! no longer offers square or scalloped square punches, nor have I kept any of those that have retired. If I'd seen this card a few years back, I could have had some comparable paper as well as the punches! But not now. Nonetheless, I really liked this card. So off I went into my craft room to see what I could do.
Circles! I could use circles instead of squares! And so I did, with stamps from the September 2015 My Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set, the 1-3/4" Circle Punch and the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.
I knew right away that this was not going to be a standard sized card that would fit into an A2 Envelope (Stampin' Up!'s "Medium" sized envelope). I'm also running out of envelope paper. But once I started laying things out on my work table, I realized that this could be a card that would fit perfectly into a #10 Envelope. And so it does!
I added some Candy Dots to embellish the card front a bit, and of course the Spider Web Doilies were the perfect accent for the corners.
This year's Stampin' Up! Halloween Paper – Happy Haunting – only has two colors. Sigh some green and purple would have been nice. But once I started going through all the sheets in the set (yes, I still have some left!) I realized that my card would look just fine with just the two colors.
So I have that idea out of my head and onto paper! Now to finish showing off my Halloween cards in the next day or so – Halloween's only a couple of days away! I hope you're having some fun with Halloween this year, too!
