My first event since returning from all my summer travels was with eight young women (seven "tweens" and one about-to-be-first-grader -- sister of one of the others). Boy, did they have a good time! (Me, too!) The project was to decorate the cover of a composition book. I had hoped to use some new materials to show off to their moms; but August 17th was just too … [Read more...] about A Class for the Younger Generation
Sisters
One of the best things I've done in the past couple of years was to convince my sister, Andrea, to go have a portrait session with me. We went to one of those mall photographers who specialize in children. We told them we felt like kids, and said they should just pose us down on the floor like they did any other kids! (I'm on the left and Andrea is on the right in all the … [Read more...] about Sisters

Back to Work!
I returned home from Maryland to a stack of boxes from Stampin' Up! Several of them were loaded with the new Stampin' Up! Fall/Winter 2008 Idea Book and Catalog. I still cannot believe how much fun I'm having going through this book! Of course I took it with me because I knew I was going to need time for some creative thinking while on my long airplane rides. So I'm madly trying … [Read more...] about Back to Work!
A Double Rainbow to Brighten My Day
I am back from visiting my sister, Andrea, who is still in hospital in Maryland. My brothers are hoping that they will be able to move her to a rehabilitation center soon. We are still not sure what kind of recovery Andrea will have, but we are hoping that it will be sufficient that we can enjoy her humor and laughter once again before too very long. As I heard at the Stampin' … [Read more...] about A Double Rainbow to Brighten My Day
On a More Sobering Note…
I just now received a phone call that my sister has had a stroke and is in intensive care in Maryland. So I will likely be out of commission for quite awhile. Please keep Andrea and our family in your thoughts and prayers. … [Read more...] about On a More Sobering Note…
Cards, Cards and More Cards!
Ah, I'm feeling much less stressed now that I've started to unpack all my Convention 2008 goodies. This morning I thought I'd share the wonderful cards that I received at the Split Coast Stampers Dinner Swap on Wednesday night of Convention. Many, many of these cards use brand new stamp sets, and I can hardly wait to show them off at my New Catalog Open House this Saturday, August … [Read more...] about Cards, Cards and More Cards!
Can You Say, “Exhausted”?
I'm back from Stampin' Up!'s Celebrate 2008 Convention. It was my first (but definitely not last) SU Convention, and I'm just now coming up for some air. My bags aren't unpacked, my swaps aren't sorted, and my notes aren't typed. Nonetheless, I thought I'd share a couple of tidbits from Convention with you as my own "sneak peek" of what I'll be sharing as the week goes … [Read more...] about Can You Say, “Exhausted”?
Gifts of Stationery – Part 2
There is a BIG box of swaps in the Craft Room waiting to be hauled off to Salt Lake City and the 2008 Stampin' Up! Convention. My favorites continue to be the Stationery Sets that are a part of three Stationery Set Swaps in which I'm involved. In the first set, described a couple of posts before this one, was in a folder. Now I'd like to share with you one that's in a bag, … [Read more...] about Gifts of Stationery – Part 2
Just Couldn’t Resist Some More Swaps!
I'm in the final stretch before I head east for the 2008 Stampin' Up! Convention! I should be packing and checking things off on my to-do list. Instead, I decided that I just HAD TO HAVE some general swaps--just in case I met someone at the airport in Hilo or Honolulu or Salt Lake City. At this late date (I leave tomorrow!) I had to have something that would be catchy but easy. … [Read more...] about Just Couldn’t Resist Some More Swaps!
Gifts of Stationery – Part 1
I am having so much fun with the swaps that I'm doing for the 2008 Stampin' Up! Convention. I am participating in planned swaps, trying to find items that my customers will enjoy making during the coming year! One of my favorite types of projects are those that my customers and I can give away for gifts. And what better gift to make from paper and ink than stationery sets! The … [Read more...] about Gifts of Stationery – Part 1
