I am back from visiting my sister, Andrea, who is still in hospital in Maryland. My brothers are hoping that they will be able to move her to a rehabilitation center soon. We are still not sure what kind of recovery Andrea will have, but we are hoping that it will be sufficient that we can enjoy her humor and laughter once again before too very long. As I heard at the Stampin' … [Read more...] about A Double Rainbow to Brighten My Day
I just now received a phone call that my sister has had a stroke and is in intensive care in Maryland. So I will likely be out of commission for quite awhile. Please keep Andrea and our family in your thoughts and prayers. … [Read more...] about On a More Sobering Note…
Ah, I'm feeling much less stressed now that I've started to unpack all my Convention 2008 goodies. This morning I thought I'd share the wonderful cards that I received at the Split Coast Stampers Dinner Swap on Wednesday night of Convention. Many, many of these cards use brand new stamp sets, and I can hardly wait to show them off at my New Catalog Open House this Saturday, August … [Read more...] about Cards, Cards and More Cards!
I'm back from Stampin' Up!'s Celebrate 2008 Convention. It was my first (but definitely not last) SU Convention, and I'm just now coming up for some air. My bags aren't unpacked, my swaps aren't sorted, and my notes aren't typed. Nonetheless, I thought I'd share a couple of tidbits from Convention with you as my own "sneak peek" of what I'll be sharing as the week goes … [Read more...] about Can You Say, “Exhausted”?
There is a BIG box of swaps in the Craft Room waiting to be hauled off to Salt Lake City and the 2008 Stampin' Up! Convention. My favorites continue to be the Stationery Sets that are a part of three Stationery Set Swaps in which I'm involved. In the first set, described a couple of posts before this one, was in a folder. Now I'd like to share with you one that's in a bag, … [Read more...] about Gifts of Stationery – Part 2
I'm in the final stretch before I head east for the 2008 Stampin' Up! Convention! I should be packing and checking things off on my to-do list. Instead, I decided that I just HAD TO HAVE some general swaps--just in case I met someone at the airport in Hilo or Honolulu or Salt Lake City. At this late date (I leave tomorrow!) I had to have something that would be catchy but easy. … [Read more...] about Just Couldn’t Resist Some More Swaps!
I am having so much fun with the swaps that I'm doing for the 2008 Stampin' Up! Convention. I am participating in planned swaps, trying to find items that my customers will enjoy making during the coming year! One of my favorite types of projects are those that my customers and I can give away for gifts. And what better gift to make from paper and ink than stationery sets! The … [Read more...] about Gifts of Stationery – Part 1
Most cards that are made using Stampin' Up! products include multiple layers of papers and/or card stock, artfully arranged with stamped images and embellishments to create a true work of art! (Hey, I need to start doing more of that!!) For one swap to take place at this year's Stampin' Up! convention, we were challenged to make a card with NO LAYERS! But it was still supposed to be a … [Read more...] about A “No Layer” Challenge
Stampin' Up! is thrilled to announce its new product line, Décor Elements. And I'd be thrilled if you'd let me introduce you to a sample of the product! The Décor Elements product line is self-adhesive vinyl art for walls, mirrors, windows, or other hard, smooth surfaces. It is an extension of our Definitely Decorative home décor line, which is another way to … [Read more...] about Stampin’ Up! Introduces Décor Elements
My first posts on my new blog will focus on scrapbook pages that I have made for our grandchildren. Morgan has not yet been to visit us on the Big Island of Hawaii--and given her rapidly growing brood of siblings, may not be visiting for awhile. Dear child would love to visit; however, her mother would probably lose her sanity quickly with three under the age of six traveling … [Read more...] about Morgan Dances
