Aloha, all!
I made this card with one of my favorite sets of Designer Series Paper in the Stampin’ Up! January – July 2021 Mini Catalog. It’s called Hydrangea Hill and has the most gorgeous collection of purple flowers that I’ve seen in a long time. Oh, and there’s a little bit of blue in there, too. But today I’m featuring the purples.
Hydrangea Hill Patterned Papers Are Retiring
Unfortunately, this favorite set of papers isn’t carrying over into the Stampin’ Up! 2021-2011 Annual Catalog. Papers rarely carry over. Even then, they’re usually special packs of paper, such as the In Good Taste set that is larger than usual. The good news is that it’s still available! That’s because the Mini Catalog goes until June this year (thus called January – June). But as of next week, if Stampin’ Up! runs out of it, it won’t be replaced.
I’ve just ordered what I think is my last pack of this paper and I’m seriously thinking about ordering another. I rarely order papers that are going to retire, but this might just be an exception.
The Colors Are Amazing
Of course, I think Hydrangeas themselves are amazing. When we had them in our garden in Virginia, every year I couldn’t decide if I liked the pink or blue or purple flowers best. Of course they were best when they were gathered in all three colors and arranged in a bouquet in my house.
My favorite (have I used that word too much?) colors are the Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather. Actually, that’s a good thing because the blue and and the pink colors have been retired from Stampin’ Up’s Catalogs already. Those colors were Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray. So sad to see these colors go. But that’s the way it is for me in my demonstrator existence. I need to keep up with what’s current.
This Card’s Layout
The layout for this card is a fairly simple and relatively common layout. The measurements are:
- Card Base (cardstock): 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”, folded at the top. Gorgeous Grape.
- Bottom layer (patterned paper): 3” high x 5” wide. Highland Heather print.
- Strips (patterned paper): 3-1/2” high, 1-1/4” wide. Hydrangea prints.
- Cardstock strip for the sentiment, sized to the sentiment. Basic White.
I really liked that Highland Heather striped paper as a background layer. All of the strips also feature the blue as well as the purple hydrangeas. So I did manage to get one of my favorite colors in this paper into the picture, too.
Oh, and by the way. That Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon is NOT GOING TO RETIRE!
Don’t Wait to Order
Remember that this paper, as well as much of what’s in the January-June Mini Catalog, will be retiring as of June 30, 2021. So order while you can. On the other hand, you might want to wait until next week when Stampin’ Up! will publish it’s Last Chance List, with lots of products on sale for as much as 50% off!
Meanwhile, Happy Stamping!
