Just a Week From Tomorrow – New Colors

April 26, 2021 by Robin

Simply Layered Card

Aloha,  all

We have only one more week to wait before the new Stampin’ Up! 2021-2022 Annual Catalog is released to the public. By this time, my Craft Room has been almost completely cleared of any products that were in the last Annual Catalog that will not be featured in the new catalog. Not quite, though, because there are two stamp sets that I’m thinking about allowing to hang out with the others for just a bit longer. Oh, and there is still a current mini catalog – the January – June 2021 Mini Catalog. Those products are going to be around for another 2 months and I’ll still be working with them for a while.

But for this week, I’ll be sharing some quick products that I’ve made to show you some of the goodies that will be in the new catalog.

The  New  In  Colors  Are  Instant  Favorites

The card that I shared at the top of this article features 4 of the new In Colors. The card base is Pale Papaya. I can see myself using that color throughout the Spring and definitely in the Fall with all the traditional fall reds, oranges and golds. It will accent them all so well! I used two of the new colors – Soft Succulent and Polished Pink – to color the stamped flowers. These colors are generally darker and brighter than in this card. That’s because I used a “stamping off*” technique to take them down to a more pastel hue. I thought that went better with the pastels of the patterned papers that I used. The other color in the card is Highland Heather which I think complements these new colors beautifully.

A Sneak Peek of My Favorite New Paper Set

As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator I have had a copy of the new catalog in my hands for just about a month now. We gotto order a few things in advance of the catalog’s formal release on May 4th. I ordered an entire suite of products that includes the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper. I layered hree of the patterns  behind the stamped layer. Would you be surprised if I told you that I had to order a second pack of that paper because I’ve already run out of some of the prints? While I’m sure I’ll enjoy some of the other new papers when I can get my hands on them, I have a feeling that this set will be one that I’ll be going back to a lot this year.

And  Another  Sneak  Peek

I actually did order one other pack of paper during our pre-order period. The paper features pansies, and pansy-lovers are swooning. Unfortunately, I’ve never had much experience with pansies even when I had homes and gardens in Maryland and Virginia, where they are very popular. But I love the paper set! It’s not just pansies. The Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper has lots of other designs and it really does a great job of featuring the new In Colors.

The strip of paper on the left of the background in the card on the right is one of the prints in that paper set. For this card, I featured yet another one of the new In Colors – Fresh Freesia. That’s the color in the square over on the right of the card. It’s also the color that I used for the flowers in the stamped image from the Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set. Again, the actual ink color was a bit brighter than I wanted to have in this card, so I did some stamping off* again.

And  One  Last  Peek

Check out the Fresh Freesia paper, as well as the Soft Succulent strip in the middle of the design. These are both from the new packs of paper that featured four designs in each of Stampin’ Up!’s current colors. I love that plaid design! I like the others, too. But that’s my favorite.

What  To  Do  While  Waiting  for  the  New  Catalog

If you already have a copy of the new catalog, enjoy looking through it and planning what you’d like to have. And then check back here now and then to see what I have to show you from the small stash I already have. It’s not a lot, but I’ll stay busy with it until I can order more new stuff, too! Meanwhile, don’t forget that the current Mini Catalog is still alive and well with lots of fun products for the rest of the Spring!

Happy stamping!
