Aloha, all!
If ever a State could use a tag line, “Forever Green,” the State of Hawai’i would be the one. It is green almost everywhere you look. Of course we do have a bit of lava here and there (ya think?!). But even in the lava fields, even the newer ones, something green is growing. So how could I not buy the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper (DSP) with a name like Forevery Greenery.
And It’s Time for the Monthly Island Hopping Blog Hop!
What better time to talk about Hawai’i than the last Wednesday of the month, when it’s time for me and my Maui buddy, Cheryl Hamilton, to do our Island Hop!
And Forever Greenery, as you might imagine is our theme of the month of June!
The Forever Greenery Suite Has Company
While the DSP in the Forevery Greenery Suite is just that – Green all the way – there are lots of other new products in the 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Catalog that have the same kinds of designs as those in the Forevery Greenery DSP. One such set is Touched My Heart, which is a Host Set (you can only buy it with Stampin’ Rewards – ask me if you’d like more info). So out came that stamp set to go with the Forever Greenery DSP.
Everything in this card, except for the Flirty Flamingo colored heart, is green. The two greens that I picked to accent this card are the new Just Jade and the oldie but goodie, Pear Pizzazz. Once I picked the sheet of paper that I used from the DSP set, I wanted to keep that as a reference for the rest of the card. So those simple leaf designs are in the stamped images – the Heart and the sprigs of leaves – as well as in the texturized Pear Pizzazz cardstock. The embossing folder is in the Forever Greenery suite and is called simply, Greenery.
Building on the Heart Theme
Once I’d chosen the Touched My Heart, and pretty much had the layout for this card, I needed to think about what sentiment I wanted to use. The stamp set has some lovely sentiments. But none of them grabbed me at the moment I was making this card. As I started looking at the other sets that I have (there really aren’t many!) I quickly found a sentiment I’d used before in one of my favorite new stamp sets, Lovely You. After that, it was easy to stamp it in Jade Green and punch it and its mat with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. If you’ve followed my blog at all lately, you’ve seen me use this punch many times!
Just a Little Last Minute
And with that, my card was finished. I have to tell you that both Cheryl and I blissfully started this week thinking that we had yet another week to decide on our theme and then take some time to coordinate what we were going to do. But, alas, June has only 30 days. So next Wednesday, rather than being the last day of June is the first day of July. But here we are, catching our breath, but with blogs to show off. Be sure to visit Cheryl’s blog today, too, as she will definitely have a fun project to share!
Only one more week until July! Have fun stamping the rest of June.

Wow! What a beautiful card! I am totally CASING IT! Maybe we should do that next month… CASE each other!
Totally cool idea – especially with the August – December Mini coming just a few days later! Maybe we could do Christmas in July and CASE each other’s project.
