Aloha, all!
We’re in our third week of the great 2020 Stay-at-Home orders. Or is it the fourth? I’ve seen several people post on social media about all the things that they’re doing to defeat boredom. But I have to tell you that, with a year’s supply (or more?!) of Stampin’ Up! supplies in my teensy craft room area, boredom is not an issue at my home!
Just What I Need – a New Suite!
With all that I already have, Stampin’ Up! surprised us with a brand new suite that we can all order in advance of its official debut in the next catalog. The suite is “Ornate Garden Suite.” It has 2 Stamp Sets, Designer Series Paper (DSP), 2 Die sets, an embossing folder, ribbon, and a gold embellishment. In short, it has everything!
Oh, and the colors in this suite are perfect colors for the summer months. Flowers are going to bloom and provide us with lots of color this summer even though the current virus will most likely still be with us. I’m hoping for it to have decreased its virulence enough so that I can get out and walk through Hawaii’s wonderful gardens. Crossing fingers and toes!
So what are the colors, you might well ask. They are Mint Macaron, Old Olive, Terracotta Tile, a brand new In Color called “Bumblebee,” and the accent colors Whisper White and Early Espresso. The ribbon that comes with the suite is a combo of two roll of smooth and silky 1/4″ Old Olive and Terracotta Tile.
My Favorite New Suite Product!
In tomorrow’s blog post, I’ll share several products from the new suite. For today, I’m focusing on my very favorite product from this suite, the Ornate Borders Dies.
The Petal Pink strip over on the left side of this card shows off two of the borders. There are three floral borders in this die set. But I think that the small flowers with their delicate stems and leaves are going to be perfect for so many projects over the next year. That’s how long this suite will be in the Stampin’ Up! catalog. Oh, and on the left side of this strip is yet another border die with delicate pierced scallops.
There’s another “ornate” product on this card, too. The sentiment is stamped on and bordered by two frames from the Ornate Frames die set. Where is that in the catalog? Just online. This set was featured as a Halloween set in the 2019 Holiday Catalog. And it carried over hopefully to be in the next annual catalog. With all its sister and brother “ornate” products in that catalog, I can’t imagine it won’t be in it!
The colors for this card are Petal Pink and Calypso Coral. I think that these two colors accent each other beautifully, especially in a card that I’ll send to a friend this spring.
What Are Your Favorite Spring Colors?
What are your favorite colors for spring? If you share them with me, I’ll be happy to make a card with them and share it here!
Whatever you do, I hope you are having some creative time and sharing it with others!
