Hi, There, Stampers!
Have I mentioned that I had a challenge with myself to use all my new Stampin’ Up! products at least once during the month of May? Well, I made it! I know today is June (June 1st!). But I made this card, as well as the one I’ll show you in a bit, during May.
I have to tell you that, when I first skimmed through the 2023-2024 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog, the very first suite of products that caught my eye was Earthen Elegance. I still haven’t quite figured out why. But I know that I’ve loved working with it. It may be one of those suites that I would have used for days on end had it not been for my challenge.
Now, How to Describe This Card?
I think that this is one of those cards that I have to take apart piece by piece to show you what I did with it.
- Let’s start with that Doily. No, that is NOT a part of the Earthen Elegance Suite. But it’s another new product that I had to use and I thought it would be a great background for the rest of the design. The product is the Delightful Doily Hybrid Die and Embossing Folder. For this project I both die-cut the doily and then ran it through the coordinating Embossing Folder. Love the way it looks and you’ll see more of it. I’m thinking it will be fun at Christmas time!
- The Vases. There are three vases at the bottom of the card. The one on the right is one that I stamped using Pretty Peacock Ink and then fussy cut (cut by hand). To finish it, I die cut the design our of Copper Clay Cardstock. The stamps and dies are all part of the Earthen Textures Bundle. The middle vase is one that I die-cut using one of the prints in the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper. I also used another print from the paper set for the vase on the left, die cut with yet another die in the bundle. For that vase, I used the new Natural 1/4″ Wavy Trim to wrap it. That’s an idea that I got from some of the samples that are on the suite’s pages in the Stampin’ Up! Catalog (pages 70-71).
- The “Flowers.” The sprig in the vase on the right is one I stamped using Copper Clay Ink and then die-cut with one of the dies in the bundle. That big artistic leaf is my favorite of all of the dies in the set. After you die-cut it, you can use it two ways. One way is just to leave it lying flat. It’s very impressive. But I think it’s equally impressive to snip the strips away from each other and fold them on the score lines that each strips has. I’ve already folded several more than one!
- The blue background is another of the prints from the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper. Love the color and texture! The dots that I used to finish the card are from the Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems embellishment set.
Another Card
While I didn’t let myself get carried away with this set, I did make one more card with it.
Both vases in this set are stamped, the one on the left using Copper Clay Ink and on the right using Moody Mauve. Instead of using the wavy trim that comes with the Earthen Elegance Suite, I used another new product – the jute twine that comes in the new 2023-2025 In Colors. Here I used the Moody Mauve colored jute.
I continued the Copper Clay and Moody Mauve coloring with the die-cut elements in the vases. You can see that, for this card, I left the large leaf uncut and flat. It’s still a great look. Again the background is a piece from the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper set. Then I added a strip from another print in the set over on the left that includes all the colors in the card. Fun accent!
The sequins are Pretty Peacock from the Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio.
