Celebrate Everything – Halloween!

September 6, 2022 by Robin

Hi, There, Stampers!

This week and next, I’m going to feature some prints from the Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper set, Celebrate Everything. You may have missed seeing this set of papers as it’s all the way in the back of the Stampin’ Up! July – December 2022 Mini Catalog. Yes, way in the back – inside the back cover actually. It’s there because this set of papers is only available as a gift for buying at least $150 in Stampin’ Up! products or for Hosting an event where your guests spend at least that much total.

Why This Set of Papers?

But what makes it so special that I’d focus two weeks worth of articles on it? This is Stampin’ Up!’s own answer:

“You’ll be prepared for any card-giving occasion when you have this Celebrate Everything 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. Need cute pumpkins and ghosts for Halloween? You got it! Need colorful fall leaves for an autumn-themed card? It’s in there! How about some gorgeous fireworks, perfect for all sorts of celebrations? This paper has it—and a whole lot more. Get this paper now and you’ll thank yourself later!”

Just because I’m using this paper doesn’t mean that I’m not going to be sharing fun stamp sets and layouts. I’ll have all that and more – even sketches! All of those work beautifully with this fun paper set.

It’s Time for Halloween Cards

When I looked at the prints in this paper set, I of course saw the black paper with all those ghosts as Halloween paper. But I really wanted another print to go with it for the cards I had in mind. With 24 different prints in this set, it took a bit of studying to find the perfect second print. Those gold (Crushed Curry) stars on the black background perfectly matched the gold stars in the ghost print. So those are the prints you’re going to see this week.

Cottage Wreaths Bundle – Not Just for Christmas

Did you happen to see those beautiful wreaths on page 58 of the Mini Catalog? Did you also notice that one of the wreaths had a spider hanging from it? It wasn’t until I saw that spider that I refocused on the Cottage Wreaths Bundle. Sure enough, there was that spider! And there, too, was the wreath with just the dead branches, which is definitely perfect for Halloween.

One of the dies in the Country Wreaths Dies set that’s part of the bundle cuts that wreath out perfectly. Granted, I had to turn the die around the stamped image for a while to find the perfect fit. But it was worth it. Hint: find the perfect fit for the die then mark the back of both the die and stamp with a Sharpie pen. Next time the match will be a lot easier!

I’m sure that the images I used for dead leaves are meant to be pine sprigs. But in this card, they’re colored and arranged to be as dead as that branch wreath. Before I added them to the wreath, I tied a bow using Black Bakers Twine from the Bakers Twine Essentials Pack. Then I added a Mini Glue Dot to the end of each “leaf” and adhered it to the wreath around the bow.

Adding Some Texture

To keep this card from seeming too flat, I layered the wreath and that darling little spider to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also added some of the black dots from the Classic Matte Dots set around the wreath as well as down in the lower right corner with the stray leaves.

Finally I added a piece of the Metallic Mesh Ribbon, letting it lie diagonally across the card. Love that ribbon ever since it was introduced as a Halloween embellishment two years ago. I’ve made it look pretty on occasion. But I like it best as ghostly Halloween ribbon.

And a Sketch!

Here’s a sketch for this card. Each of my cards this week will have a sketch to go with it. So make sure to keep visiting!

Happy Stamping!
