Celebrate!

February 26, 2020 by Robin

Aloha, all!

Happy Wednesday – and welcome to a monthly blog that I share with my sister Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Cheryl Hamilton. Cheryl lives on the island of Maui in Hawai’i and I live on the Big Island. Occasionally we get together to craft. But every month, on the last Wednesday, we create a blog post with a common theme. This month’s theme is, “Celebrate!”

There are so many things to Celebrate!

Think of all the occasions we celebrate all the time – Birthdays, Anniversaries, Promotions and Retirements, Achievements. And the list goes on. Sometimes we just want to celebrate feeling better after a short illness – or a long one! But celebrate definitely defines something for which to be happy.

I think that this card could be used for just about any celebration. What would you use it for?

Red and Pink are not just for Valentine’s Day!

If you’ve followed me for long, you recognize the paper in this card as being from the Stampin’ Up! 2020 Valentine’s paper. But Valentine’s Day is long past. What’s that all about? Well, do you see any hearts? Do you see any Cupid bows? Definitely not. So why not use it for as long as you still have some of this paper? That’s what I did for this card.

And Cakes are not just for Birthdays!

The Cake and Flower stamp and dies are from the Happy Birthday To You stamp set. But do you see anything about birthdays? Once again, nope!

So why not use this paper and this stamp and die set for any kind of celebration. That’s what I’m doing with this card. In fact, I’m used this card to celebrate a milestone birthday – mine! Yes, I made myself a card. OK, it might be mine for only a short time before I share it with anyone else. But for this month, it’s mine.

During Stampin’ Up!’s 2020 Sale-a-Bration promotion, the Happy Birthday to You stamp set (which includes the cake AND sentiment you see in this card) is FREE! And, with the release of some coordinating products this month, you can buy a die set that includes the cake (with flowers) as well as a fun cake stand.

To make this card sparkle, I stamped the outline image of the cake/flowers using VersaMark ink and embossed the image using Gold Stamp Emboss Powder.

Now head on over to Cheryl Hamilton’s Blog to see what she’s cooked up for Celebrating today!

I have been stamping and paper crafting for over 30 years, and have been an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 14 years.

My favorite part of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is teaching others to enjoy crafting themselves. Not only do I conduct classes in person, I write tutorials for teaching anyone who has internet access. No matter if you're in my area in The Villages in Florida or anywhere else in the world, let me know if there's something you'd like to learn! Read More…

What a beautiful, happy card!! Love the red! And the doily in the background is really pretty. I forget about those…
