My Favorite Freebie from 2021 Sale-a-bration!

Robin · December 30, 2020 ·

Aloha, all!

Welcome to the final session of Island Hopping of 2020. My friend and sister Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, Cheryl Hamilton, and I are excited today to introduce a favorite FREE PRODUCT BUNDLE from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Brochure. The product bundle is filled with berries and includes a Stamp Set and a set of Designer Series Papers. I am so excited to have been able to pre-order this bundle to show it off for you today!

Well-Coordinated Papers

I’ve noticed that many of the Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper sets (aka, Printed Paper) have prints on the front and back of a sheet that don’t really coordinate that well. Both prints are usually gorgeous, but don’t seem to be related. This is definitely NOT the case with the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper set in the Sale-a-bration brochure. On one side of each sheet of paper there is a design that features a type of berry (go figure). On the other side is a pattern that features one basic color that coordinates beautifully with its berry print. Today I’m going to feature two of those coordinating designs. Come back tomorrow to check out the others!

A Folded Pocket Card Featuring the Berry Bundle

This card features both sides of one of the sheets in the Berry Delightful paper set. You can see that the Rich Razzleberry color is carried through each of the prints just beautifully. The “front” of the paper features Rich Razzleberry berries and a couple of different shades of green in the leaves. The “back” of the paper is one color – Rich Razzleberry – with dark, medium and shades. They go SO well together!

And now an introduction to the Berry Blessings Stamp Set that is bundled with this luscious paper. The stamp set features blueberries and blackberries. Of course, for this card, the berry is a “Razzleberry.” But that’s artistic license that I take all the time. There are three sentiments, and one of them is on the front of this card. To embellish this card, I stamped one of the Razzleberries and some leaves, and cut them out to adhere to the sentiment layer. I used the Stitched So Sweetly Dies set for the shapes in the sentiment layer.

Here’s a bit more about the fold that I used for this card. I adhered the bottom fold to the back of the card base at the sides. For this, as paper and perhaps other things ($$$?) might be going in and out of the pocket, I used Tear & Tape Adhesive. Then I inserted a piece of white cardstock on which I stamped a few berries and leaves to coordinate with the front of the card.

The insert is not adhered to the inside of the card. It can be taken out for both writing and reading!

Another Pocket Card to Show Off the Papers

For this card, I used another sheet from the same set of printed papers that features blues – Night of Navy and Balmy Blue – to create a blueberry print and a coordinating blue plaid. In the same way that the two sides of the Razzleberry paper coordinate well, these two prints are just made for each other.

The only folds in this card are the two triangle shapes at the bottom. They are folded over each other and closed at the bottom of the card with Tear & Tape Adhesive. For the insert, I again used a piece of white cardstock, this time stamping at the top with Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green inks. I also wanted a sentiment on the card, so I added that just under the stamped berries and leaves. It’s also from the Berry Blessings Stamp Set. For a bit of embellishment, I added a wrap and bow of Whisper White Baker’s Twine, which is part of an upcoming bundle in the January – June Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog.

The Bottom Line

Lots of stuff to close this post with. First and foremost, this post is a part of the monthly Island Hopping Blog Hop. So you will definitely have to go visit Cheryl Hamilton’s Blog as soon as you’re finished here to see what she’s made.

My second closing point is that this paper and stamp bundle is so much fun! I generally just order one of each item in a Sale-a-bration brochure. But I’ll be using this paper a LOT, and will likely order more.

And the third is that I have tutorials written for both of these folds. As always, I first share my tutorials with subscribers to my newsletter. I’ll be sending one out next Tuesday, which is the first day of the new Stampin’ Up! January – June Mini Catalog AND the first of two Sale-a-bration Brochures for 2021. So, if you’d like a printed tutorial for these pocket cards, be sure to be on my E-mail mailing list – right up there to the right.

Happy Stamping!

* You may have heard that the company that made Stampin’ Up!’s Whisper White Cardstock has gone out of business. As of the time I’m writing this, Whisper White cardstock has sold out. It will be replaced early in 2021 with a new product, Basic White Cardstock. Stampin’ Up! assures us that we will love the new Basic White just as we did Whisper White. But for now, I hope you have a stash of Whisper White Cardstock that will tide you over. I wish I could say that I have some I could send to you. But I was caught by surprise just as everyone else was. So my stock is shrinking, too!
