I have spent the past week just crafting away, not that you’d notice from my posting here. But it was craft or post, and craft won.
In the midst of all that not posting, I missed the fourth of the birthday cards that I mentioned last week, but it was actually the first of the birthdays in the group. Just to confuse things further, the first card I made was for tomorrow’s birthday girl, the second was for a Thursday birthday and the third for a Saturday birthday. But yesterday’s I missed posting about.
I made this card for my friend, Robin (I have several friends with whom I share a first name!). This Robin is one of our two friends who lent us their house last year when the lava from Kilauea Volcano destroyed our own home. She’s also my bridge partner for much of the 6 months that and her wife, Leslie, live here in Hawai’i. In both cases, that makes Robin a Very Important Friend!
I made the card using the stamp set Broadway Birthday for the sentiment and the word, “Wish,” from the Broadway Lights Die set. The paper with the hearts and stars and circles is a Calypso Coral design from the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper set. I used that both for the background layer and for the die-cut word. The mats for both layers is Pretty Peacock Cardstock, and I used the Pretty Peacock Stamp Pad for the sentiment.
The embellishment dots including the dot on the “i” are from the 2019-2021 In Color Faceted Dots set. The color of the orange-ish dot is Terracotta Tile, but it seemed in person, as well as on camera, to match the Designer Series Paper just fine!
So Happy Birthday a day late, Robin! I hope you’re having a great time on your road trip. The card will be waiting for you when you get home!
Happy Stamping, everyone!
