Aloha, all!
Here most of us are, reeling a bit from that lost hour from last night's "Spring Forward" time change! I usually don't have to deal with that. But as you read this, I'm not in Hawaii, but on the East Coast of the U.S., recovering from an evening of revelry after a family wedding. Oh, so much to do today, too! But I won't go into all that. What really interests me right now is that this week is St. Patrick's Day! I love making greeting cards for any and all occasions, and St. Patty's Day is no exception!
Ah, yes, look at all that green! Those Shamrocks are actually from a stamp that has as its second part the phrase, "Got Green?" But I left that off for today's card, and added in some stamps from two other stamp sets – ONE OF WHICH IS NEW AND YOU'LL HAVE A CHANCE TO PURCHASE IT IN APRIL! There are four frames that can be punched using the Decorative Label Punch in the brand new stamp set, "Four Frames." Hmmmm. I wonder what went into the process of naming THAT stamp set?!
But what made we want to use it with this card was that the same polka dot pattern is in the Frame stamp as is in the Shamrock! How cool is that? I'm so sorry that I can't get the frame stamp for you in time for THIS St. Patrick's Day. BUT you'll have it available this time next year because it will be in the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog! Yup, that's what it's a preview for!
The greeting that I stamped in the middle of the frame is from the oh-so-versatile stamp set, Teeny Tiny Wishes. It seems like EVERY holiday is in that set for you to use! Maybe I couldn't find Arbor Day or Presidents' Day. But the rest of them are definitely there.
As with most of the greeting card designs for which I make sketches, you can use this sketch with any number of stamp sets and for any number of occasions! Hopefully when I get back from my trip, I'll have time for some other suggestions for the use of this sketch!
I'm hoping that the rest of my week is going to be a lot more restful than the past week – and I'm even going to have some creative time next Saturday when I'll be doing a special class! More about that later in the month!
And I hope that you'll have some creative time this week – and maybe even get some St. Patty's Day cards made and sent out!
