Aloha, all!
With a whole half hour left to make cards before I had to leave for the airport, I got a bit carried away! But I'd spied on my craft table a card that I'd received in the mail from fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Tammy Fite, just a week or so earlier. While her layout included stamped panels, I could definitely see the possibility of using Designer Series Papers in her card!
Also in the mess still out on the craft room table were some sheets of the Designer Series Paper Set, Orchard Harvest. After I finished the card, I was thinking I might have wanted to use different papers than those that I first grabbed. But this is what I made, so this is what gets blogged!
The fun part was quickly punching up some Cajun Craze Card Stock with a scallop circle punch, cutting some Lucky Limeade card stock with one of the shapes from the Apothecary Accents framelits, gluing them together and texturizing them before adding the Thinking of You-stamped piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock that had been punched with the Decorative Label Punch. Did you take a breath reading that long sentence? I didn't take a breath while I was doing all of this.
I think this whole process deserves a bit of a break for me to tell you how I'm able to get this much done in this short a period of time. I finally have my craft room organized in such a way that everything is JUST where it needs to be for me to get to it easily. My Sizzix Big Shot die cutting machine is on its own working shelf, and I have two sets of pads ready to use in an instant – one for embossing folders and one for framelits – and all the folders and framelits are organized and labeled in boxes that are at eye level. My inks, markers, ribbons and punches are within easy reach and out in the open. It's a dream set up and I'm extraordinarily happy with it.
Heck, I can even leave my working table a mess and STILL get projects done!
OK – back to the card. Oh – just the More Mustard Scallop Dots Ribbon to tie it all together!
Card #2 complete!!! Next time – the final push!
