Aloha, all!
This is a sentiment that I include on many of my cards. On the serious end, these cards can be for someone who has recently suffered a loss of some kind. On the other side of the emotional spectrum they can be for a card that's going to contain a cheerful "catching up" note to a good friend.
I made today's card for the former reason. We have a friend who just needed a nice note, not so much of condolence as to let her know we were, well, thinking of her during a difficult time.
The Designer Series Paper Set, "Cheerful Treat," does not seem at first glance to be paper that you might use for this kind of card. But if you set this one design aside from the rest of the set and add a stamp such as that from the Hostess Stamp Set, "Simply Soft," it works really well for a more serious type of card.
The colors that are in this paper set that I used in today's card are Concord Crush and Lucky Limeade. I also used some of the new Stampin' Up! color, Wonderful Wisteria, for the lighter stamp that fills in the flower in this 2-Step Stampin' Set.
Now for the embellishment – this is one of Stampin' Up!'s newest punches, the Lace Ribbon Border Punch. One really nice feature of this punch is that it's not just for borders! People are using these for so many different kinds of projects with the whole punched design being used as a main feature. Here, though, I did use just one half of it as a border for the right side of the layered and stamped element. And I tied the whole card together with some of the Concord Crush Stitched-Poly Ribbon. This ribbon continues into the newest Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog, but still only with the 2010-2012 In Colors. The new In Colors for 2011-2013 have their own kind of ribbon. I'll be showing that off a bit next month after I get back from a fairly long trip to the U. S. mainland.
For now, here is the sketch for today's card. Lots of 1/16" borders made by cutting the layers just 1/8" smaller than the previous layer. But the colors do show through nicely! I hope you have fun with this kind of cutting!
