Stampin' Up! has a program just started this Spring called, "My Paper Pumpkin." (Do not ask me where they got that name!) This is a monthly project that Stampin' Up! sends out to subscribers and includes everything that you need to make cards and other fun projects. I have a link over at the top of the right column (I just moved it to the top this week) if you'd like to learn more about it. It's really for people who don't have a lot of paper-crafting products or experience, but are interested in doing some crafting at least once a month. Sometimes you'll need your own adhesive and some scissors. But most of the time, all you'll need is in the box: stamps, a small ink pad, ribbons or other embellishments, cards or whatever else you need for the base of your project, and envelopes if the project is cards.
This month's project is a set of 4 cards that all have the same design featuring hexagons. Five of the hexagons are ready to be punched out leaving a hole through which you can stamp onto the inside of the card. There are some solid hexagons printed on the card, and there are self-adhesive card stock die cut hexagons for you to attach to the card where you'd like. Of course Stampin' Up! provides you with a photo of their suggested layout as well as instructions. But you can certainly use your own artistic license to place them where and how you like! I added a "how" by attaching some stamped hexagons with Stampin' Dimensionals which I have at the ready in my craft room.
This is how the card looks when it is closed. The greeting, the little heart and the chevron image are the three stamps included in the Paper Pumpkin kit. The stamp pad in this kit is Soft Suede. I already have a nice collection of spot shaped stamp pads after having received 4 of these kits. I didn't have a spot in Primrose Petals, so I used my own Classic Stamp Pad to stamp the little hearts. The Soft Suede just didn't feel right to me, though it looks really nice in the photograph that came with the kit.
If you'd like to learn more about "My Paper Pumpkin," just click on the link, or send me an e-mail and I'll be glad to answer any questions you have. Each kit is $19.95, all inclusive, and there is no obligation to subscribe for any length of time. In fact, you can get a "test" kit to try it out without any subscription if you'd like!
You'll definitely have fun with this if you'd just like a little bit of paper crafting time each month!
