Aloha, all!
Monday, March 31, 2014, is the last day of the best Stampin' Up! promotion of the year – Sale-a-Bration! To help you decide whether you might really want some of the Sale-a-Bration products, I've created one last greeting card using some of my favorite Sale-a-Bration products!
My very most favorite product in this year's Sale-a-Bration catalog is the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper. You've seen me use several of the sheets of this paper in previous projects, but I haven't made much use of the tone-on-tone Crisp Cantaloupe sheet. That seemed to be the perfect sheet to go with the central layered element of this card.
And that central layered element is where this card started. I looked around and found I've not yet shared with you the Petal Parade Stamp Set. What fun this set is, and I'm glad I got to use two of the stamps in this project. The first is the horizontal floral element which I stamped three times across the top half of the Whisper White Cardstock, using Crisp Cantaloupe Classic Ink. The second stamp is the scalloped design stamped, again three times, across the bottom half of the Whisper White cardstock.
In between these two stamped rows I added a cordI made using all three colors of the twine in the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack. There's a quick video on how to make a basic cord here if you'd like to try this. It's key to tie the ends of the cord you're going to use in a knot before you cut it or it will all spring apart pretty quickly! I especially like the way that the cord accents the striped piece of Designer Series paper on the bottom of the card. Do please note that I didn't attach the cord until the rest of the card was done. I drew a line of Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive across the middle of the central layer and then laid the cord on it pressing a bit until the adhesive started to dry. Then I let it sit for a couple of minutes before I set the card up to photograph it.
To make the scalloped top of the central layer, I used the Large Scalloped Edgelit on both the Whisper White cardstock and on a piece of Coastal Cabana Cardstock. I have to tell you that I find it too complicated to figure out exactly how high a piece of cardstock needs to be to mat another piece of cardstock when an edgelit or framelit is involved. So for the bottom, I just cut a 1/2" strip of Coastal Cabana to mat it.
I stamped the sentiment on the bottom section of the card using Jet Black Stazon Ink directly onto the Designer Series Paper. If you look around at the other sheets in this Designer Series Paper set, you'll see that Black is one of the accent colors in several of them. So I decided just to make black an accent in my design, starting with the stamped sentiment. That, of course, is from yet another Sale-a-Bration product, the See Ya Later Stamp Set.
To finish off the card, I layered the Designer Series Paper and Central Layered Sections onto a piece of Basic Black Cardstock, and then mounted the entire card front onto a Coastal Cabana Cardstock card base.
And that's all there is to this card – some basic cardstock and ink and Sale-a-Bration 2014 products! This is your last chance for these and many more products! If you have any questions about how you can take advantage of getting these Sale-a-Bration products free, don't hesitate to call or e-mail me today – yes, TODAY! Hi Robin, I too am going to miss SAB as it a very exciting time. Your card is really pretty and I love the rope embellishment you used on it.
