Aloha, all!
Even though my last official blog post was January 5th – my brother's birthday – I've been away from Robin's Craft Room since before the end of the year. I spent almost a week in a hospital and have been recovering since I arrived home last Saturday. Throughout all of this, so many of you have sent kind get well wishes and many of my close-by friends and neighbors have helped by doing chores and some cooking for my ever-attentive husband.
So finally here I am again with some light paper-crafting to start writing my Thank You notes. This is the first one I've made, and it was specifically for our friend, Shirley, who made the most delicious organic dinner complete with a wonderful salad that has lasted us much more than one meal.
Of course, I had to make it with some of my newest Stampin' Up! products from the Stampin' Up! 2013 Spring Catalog. These papers are just as fresh as that salad that went with Shirley's meal! Here is a list of the products that I used from the Spring Catalog:
- Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
- Tea for Two Designer Series Paper
- Bitty Butterfly Punch
From the main Stampin' Up! Catalog:
- Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral Card Stock
- Bitty Banners Framelits
- Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set
- Calypso Coral Baker's Twine
- Pearl Basic Jewels
To make the inserts for the Honeycomb pattern, I ran a rectangle of the floral pattern from the Tea for Two paper through my Sizzix Big Shot with the embossing folder and then tore it on a diagonal from the top right to bottom left. Then I cut each of the honeycomb shapes out of the paper. The crisp folds made by the embossing folder made this an easy task. Besides, I could sit down and rest while I did it! I need lots of resting!! Then I attached each piece to the inside of the honeycomb shape.
I attached each of the three framelit die cuts, as well as all three mini butterflies and the Baker's Twine, to the card front using Mini Glue Dots.
Usually I measure mats for my main layer so they're even all the way around the layer. This time, as I was using a piece of the Designer Series Paper with a regular polka-dot pattern (the Calypso Coral mat), I was more interested in making sure that the top and bottom and left and right patterns lined up more or less perfectly than that they be even all around. Sometimes that's just the best way!
My next couple of cards will be Thank You cards also. On Wednesday, though, I'll have a very special card because it's my day for Preview Day at Create With Connie and Mary! Be sure to stop back all week – but especially on Wednesday where I will have Blog Candy. And for sure stop by Create with Connie and Mary all week as we will all be giving away a chance to win a FREE subscription to the brand new Spring Edition of Create with Connie and Mary!
What a lovely card! Thanks for sharing!
Robin, this card is just beautiful. I plan on getting that folder and hope to try and make my card similar to yours. Thanks so much for sharing your neat ideas with us.

Blessings to you and a continued recovery. Your card is lovely. I had this folder on my list of wants and moved it to a "must have". That list just keeps growing.LOL
I didn't know you were under the weather, get better soon, and your card today is stunning – you must be on the mend!…
Beautiful card, thanks for the tips on "how to do this"!
