Starting the Long “Goodbye”!

April 19, 2014 by Robin

Aloha, all!

Tomorrow begins the nearly month and a half period in which we are going to be saying, "Goodbye," to tons of Stampin' Up! products.  The good news at the end of this period is that we'll be excited to welcome as many tons of NEW products that I know we can all hardly wait to start using.

For the first week of Stampin' Up! Retirement Season, I'm going to be celebrating the gorgeous Designer Series Paper Sets that we'll likely no longer see in a catalog after June 1st.  I say, "likely," because the retirement list doesn't actually come out until tomorrow (Monday, April 21st), so it's not actually yet certain that the papers I'm sharing today – and planning for tomorrow's project – will actually retire.  It's a good bet, though.

Epic Day 2

For today, I'm featuring the Designer Series Paper Set, Epic Day This and That.  There's actually a whole line of products in the Epic Day series.  Hmmmm.  So maybe if those products stay around, this paper might?  As the line of products is more in the scrapbooking genre, I'd wager that this suite will be replaced by a lot of the brand new Stampin' Up!/Project Life products.  We'll see.

This card is just a simple sampler of the Epic Day papers.  I cut each piece 3/4" wide x 5" high.  When the strips are all adhered to a piece of backing paper (I just used some printer paper), they make a rectangle 3-3/4" wide x 5" high, which allows it to be centered nicely on a standard 4-1/4" wide x 5-1/2" high card base.  I used another piece of paper from the Epic Day set to mat the strip motif before I mounted it all on the card base made of Calypso Coral Cardstock.

Oh, and beford I mounted it on the card base, I tied a piece of (retiring) Gumball Green Stitched Satin Reibbon.  I made a nice generous bow because I have lots of that ribbon left to use!  I cut a bit of a banner from the yellow piece of Epic Day Paper and stamped a greeting from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set on it.  I stamped the other stamp of this pair – "for everything you are to me" – on the inside of the card.

Be sure to join me tomorrow as I help roll out the Stampin' Up! retiring product list.  It will be a bit late on the Robin's Craft Room site because, while I love all that is Stampin' Up!, I'm not willing to get up in the middle of the night to see the beginning of a day in the Mountain Time Zone.  And the first thing that I'm going to do before posting on my blog is to send my newsletter out. If you're on my newsletter mailing list, you'll be the first of my followers to get the update!

And here's the list of products that I used for today's project.  But don't forget – you might wait until tomorrow if you're thinking about buying anything because (1) it might be on sale! and (2) starting tomorrow, there's FREE SHIPPING ALL WEEK, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, THIS WEEK.

I have been stamping and paper crafting for over 30 years, and have been an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 14 years.

My favorite part of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is teaching others to enjoy crafting themselves. Not only do I conduct classes in person, I write tutorials for teaching anyone who has internet access.
