Simply Painted!

January 10, 2015 by Robin

Aloha, all!

Once again I have managed to squeeze in some time in my craft room, and I really wanted also to squeeze in some time for the Stampin' Up! Painted Petals Stamp Set and the coordinating set of Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper as well!

First of all, this design is not my original design, but that of a stamper who posted this on the Split Coast Stamper's gallery.  I initially looked at the design as an inspiration, not as one that I wanted to copy completely.  But with so little stamping time today, I said, "What the heck!" and made the copy.  Nonetheless, I thought I'd share it with you as perhaps you've not seen this idea elsewhere and you might be inspired to use some different inks or papers!

Thinking of You

But my intention all along was to use this Designer Series Paper set, along with this stamp set.  I'm still going to work on some other designs inspired by this one, but not this time around!

The colors in this particular sheet of the Designer Series Paper are Pacific Point and Wild Wasabi, and those are the colors I used in my stamped layer.  Besides the Painted Petals Stamp Set, I used the "Thinking of You" stamp from the Wetlands Stamp Set.  There are three really nice sentiments in that set – actually my favorites for everyday use.

I actually used another sheet from this paper set earlier this week as I was preparing my January 2015 Newsletter.  If you'd like to see what I did with it there, along with some fun tutorials, just sign up for my newsletter in the upper left side of this blog post!  I'll be sending out late copies this weekend!

And here are links to the three products I featured in this card.  One thing you should note is that I bought and used the Photopolymer version of the Painted Petals stamp set.  It's so much easier to layer up the individual stamps in this set when I can see right through the stamps!

Oh, and if anyone knows the real name of the stamper who stamped this original design, please let me know and I'll edit this post to include it!

I have been stamping and paper crafting for over 30 years, and have been an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 14 years.

My favorite part of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is teaching others to enjoy crafting themselves. Not only do I conduct classes in person, I write tutorials for teaching anyone who has internet access. No matter if you're in my area in The Villages in Florida or anywhere else in the world, let me know if there's something you'd like to learn! Read More…
