Now back to our regularly-scheduled post!
In less than a week, the newest Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog will be open for business. As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I was allowed to pre-order some products from that catalog, and I’ve just about run out of the papers from my newest favorite Stampin’ Up! Suite, It Starts With Art. I knew it was going to be hard for me to share all there is to share about this suite in one blog post, so I’ve already prepared several projects about which to write as I wait to be able to jump in and order more from this suite. But then, a couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of visiting my sister Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Cheryl Hamilton, and she talked me into designing and making a SAMPLER, using products from the suite with HER products. Yay! I had more paper to play with!
Today we’re both sharing the samplers we made in her studio on Maui. We had a blast fighting over the stamps and dies and inks while we were putting these together. Neither one of us had out samplers completely finished by the time I left to catch a plane back to the Big Island, so we’re going to enjoy seeing all of this ourselves. Cheryl’s Sampler is HERE.
I cannot tell you how much fun I had making this project. It uses all but one product from the entire suite of products. And, if I’d not been so eager to get this done, I could probably have figured out how to get that into the sampler, too.
Looking at the whole photo, the highlights for me are photos of my friend, Donna (lower right) and me (upper middle) making our first set of projects from the suite earlier in the month. I’ll be sharing these with you later this week.
The Suite products that I used in this are: It Starts With Art Stamp Set, Arts & Crafts Dies, Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper (DSP), Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit, and Follow Your Art Washi Tape. From left to right, top to bottom, here are the Suite products I used in each section: (1) Stamp Set, DSP and Dies; (2) Stamp Set; (3) DSP and Dies; (4) DSP and Embellishment Kit; (5) DSP, Stamp Set, Dies, and Embellishment Kit; (6) Stamp Set, DSP, and Dies; (7) Stamp Set and Embellishment Kit (the little paper clip). Other products that I used are Blushing Bride, Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral and Pacific Point Cardstock; Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine; and Large Letters Dies.
Here is a part of Section 4 showing the Washi Tape that I used to accent the right side of the DSP print that features Pens and Pencils, that was mounted on a piece of Coastal Cabana Cardstock.
Section 5 also featured some Washi Tape, as well as two stamps from the stamp set and the die to cut out the sentiment and its decorative “frame.” The background is a print from the DSP, and the little Stampin’ Spots and Reinker Bottles are all hand cut out from another piece of the DSP. I mounted them all on Stampin’ Dimensionals to make them float on the paper.
All of Section 3 features a DSP print that is loaded with ribbons and buttons and trim. So I used the die set to cut some buttons and two strips of ribbon using all of the cardstock colors featured in the sampler.
Sections 6 and 7 both had stamped sentiments from the Stamp Set, and I added a little paper clip from the Embellishment Kit for a bit of, well, embellishment!
Here are all the products I used for this project. Remember that you cannot order the It Starts With Art Suite products until June 4th – Tuesday of NEXT week. Also of note is that the very versatile Large Letter Dies are RETIRING EFFECTIVE MONDAY, JUNE 3rd! And, as of Noon Mountain Time today, they’re ON SALE! So if you’ve had your eyes on these dies and haven’t yet bought them, now is definitely the time. This is going to be be one set that I keep in my craft room because I use it so much!
I think Cheryl and I are going to try to continue to do projects “together,” even though we’re on different islands. We’re going to start our own version of a blog hop (with just 2 of us to start). Our logo is at the beginning of this post, so look for it at the beginning of other blog posts – at least once a month – to see what we’re doing together!
Happy Stamping!

Just LOVE the way yours turned out, Robin!! It’s really special how you personalized it with the photos. That would be a great idea for a fun downline picture!
Thanks for hopping with me! And the flowery logo you made is gorgeous!!
