Aloha, all!
As recently as last summer, I was really kind of disappointed in some of the monthly kits that the Paper Pumpkin part of Stampin’ Up! has been sending out. Oh, there were a few that, when I got them, I ordered refills as soon as I could to share with some of my local Stampin’ Up! customers. But the rest, so-so.
Not this year! And especially not last month when the kit was full of everything to make 8 pop-up birthday cards.
There were two different card designs, both with the type of pop-up cake shown in the card at the top center of the picture. One had candles to adhere to the cake “layers,” and the other had cake layers decorated as gift boxes with die-cut bows to add to them.
What you don’t see here is that there were die cut numbers for just about any age you could imagine for the fronts of the cards. As most of the people to whom I send cards are adults that don’t pay too much attention to a number unless it ends in a 5 or a 0 (and then not too much either depending on how big the first digit is!), I didn’t want to add numbers. So I took the balloon from the bonus stamp set in the kit and added a balloon to the front of one design, and added some Poppy Parade Ribbon to the front of the other, along with some die-cut party hats.
The reason I’m posting this today, April 9th, is that tomorrow is the last day to sign up to get the April 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit. What’s going to be special about that? This will be the first time that one of Stampin’ Up!’s DistINKtive stamp sets will come in a Paper Pumpkin kit. These stamps have an almost 3-dimensional look to them, with built in light and dark areas that make the stamps so realistic. I can hardly wait to see this one.
One thing that the Stampin’ Up! folks at Stampin’ Up! have told us demonstrators is that there will be something “special” about every kit this year. AND MORE OF THE KITS WILL BE CARDS!! For me that’s the big deal because cards is what I most like to do when it comes to paper crafting.
Here’s a link to the Paper Pumpkin website. Go check it out and see if it’s something you’d like to try. They can explain it much better than I can! If you’d like, you can order a 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month subscription directly from Stampin’ Up! They’ll e-mail you a subscription code that you’ll use on the Paper Pumpkin website to get your subscription started. Links to those products are shown below.
Don’t forget – tomorrow’s the deadline for April!
