Out With the Old!

May 31, 2012 by Robin

Aloha, all!.

Today is the LAST DAY we can order retired products from the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog.  Tomorrow is a whole new year, and  lots of retiring products have already sold out!

So today I'm sharing my absolute favorite Designer Series Paper from the retiring catalog – and it's a Hostess Set – Cheerful Treat!

There are so many sheets from this paper set that I love!  The background sheet on this page has been especially fun with which to work, as you'll see in the next photo, which is the inside of this fun card…

OK – there are so many details that I want to share as I look at the inside of this card.  The first goes right back to the paper, and includes some fun I had with the Sizzix Labels Framelits.  Of course I cut the opening in this Tunnel Card with one of the framelits.  Then I used two other framelits to cut, well, a frame!  The fun part was turning the frames around and around until I found the perfect spot on the Cheerful Treats Paper to cut.  And look at those Concord Crush dots in the middle of the flowers at the left and right side of the frame!  I pretty much nailed that, if I do say so myself ("Don't overdo, Robin," says the little angel on my shoulder). But surely you can tell how much fun I had with this.

Now, about that Tunnel Card.  Yes, I have a tutorial, and yes I'm going to make a video showing how I made this!  I have read a couple of tutorials and viewed some other videos out there about this design.  But I made some adjustments that I thought worked pretty well for me, and I hope for you, too.  And where might you find said tutorial and video?  In my Countdown to Christmas Weekly Newsletter, which will begin this coming Monday!  This is a newsletter that I will only send to you if you request it.  And I never share your e-mail addresses, nor do I add them to my larger newsletter or any other mailing list unless you specifically request it.  AND IT'S FREE!

In every weekly newsletter, I will share a Christmas Card and, at the very least, the layout for the card.  In most of the newsletters I will share any hints that I have for making that particular card.  And there will be tutorials and even some videos for special sizes and folds!  I've planned the cards so that those that use the same stamp sets, Designer Series Papers, and/or embellishments will be grouped together in subsequent weeks.  In this way you'll be able to see how flexible Stampin' Up!'s stamp sets and accessories are.  Finally, at least once a month I'll have sales specials to help you with your Christmas Card projects.

The Newsletter is Free!  To subscribe, CLICK HERE!  This will send an e-mail directly to me – and I'd like you to include your first name to confirm that it's the Christmas Card Newsletter that you wish to receive.  You'll be able to cancel your receipt of these newsletters at any time.

Now back to my Christmas Card designing!  The first newsletter is coming up soon – and I'm going to have a lot of fun with it!

I have been stamping and paper crafting for over 30 years, and have been an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 14 years.

My favorite part of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is teaching others to enjoy crafting themselves. Not only do I conduct classes in person, I write tutorials for teaching anyone who has internet access. No matter if you're in my area in The Villages in Florida or anywhere else in the world, let me know if there's something you'd like to learn! Read More…
