Aloha, all!
Here I am in Maryland and wondering why I'm not home trying to get some more Christmas cards made when next month is already Christmas? Of course, those of you who've bought my Christmas Card Layout eBook and CD (more information over at the left) know that I had at least 35 cards done for that. Plus all of you have seen a few cards posted here that weren't in the eBook. But I could still use a dozen or so more. Yikes!
But as I've noted before, I got quite a few cards done in a mad rush the day before I left town. Today's Christmas card is one of them. So I can relax just a little bit!
Today's card is also another CASE (Copy And Share with Everyone) card. It's also another card that I made as a challenge (love those challenges – they get my adrenaline going to try to do well at them!) Now, sometimes a CASE challenge is to make a pretty close copy of the original. This challenge was a bit different in that we could change as much as we wanted as long as the basic design of the card was the same.
For a nice change, I thought I might share with you the card that I was supposed to CASE. It was made by fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Claudia Perry, who cased it from demonstrator, Kimberly Van Diepen. See how far these CASEs go on?!
While I'm sure you can see the difference, here are some of the changes I made with my card:
- the color of the glimmer paper (I used Silver Glimmer Paper, while the original used Champagne Glimmer Paper)
- the Rhinestone Basic Jewels (the original used Pearl Basic Jewels)
- I used Midnight Muse Card Stock along with some Midnight Muse Designer Series Paper, while the original used some reds and greens for the background
- rather than use the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, I used the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder.
- and finally I used a greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes, along with the Word Window Punch.
My sizes were a bit different, but that's what comes of having to figure out measurements when you have to eyeball them rather than have specific measurements (as I do in my eBooks!)
While I've had a lot of fun visiting family members (and there are still more to see!), I'm really starting to get more and more anxious to get home. Sigh, and it's still more than a week. AND I get to do some Stampin' Up! projects tomorrow with my sister-in-law, Deb, who's also my downline. Hooray for sisters-in-law who let their uplines in their stamping studios!
