Today's project shows off something that I've been dying to do with the brand new stamp set, Pretty Postage. I'm not sure why this came to mind, but I just wanted to use a bunch of colors and stamp them off so that the first image was darker, then one degree lighter, then another. The colors I used from top to bottom were Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi and Tangerine Tango. Well, aren't those the colors in the new Designer Series Paper Set, Beyond the Garden? Sure enough, which is why I included paper from that set in this design!
To make the "stamps," I cut the images out along their edges, then mounted them on matching card stock that I punched with the new Postage Stamp Punch. Then I lined them all up so that they look something like a sheet of stamps that you get from the Post Office. I also used that punch to make the little background for the "just for you" sentiment from the Stamp Set, Teeny Tiny Wishes. I first punched a stamp, then attached it to a piece of a sticky note and punched it again to make it lots shorter.
As I frequently do, I tied this card together with some ribbon, this time some Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, which matches the Daffodil Delight Brads that I inserted into the stamp layer where the stamps meet together.
Here's the sketch for today. I hope you have something in mind to do with the great new products in the Stampin' Up! 2011 Summer Mini Catalog! (And if you don't, Create with Connie and Mary Summer Edition will help you out with that for sure!). Whatever you do with your own designs or inspiration from this or another website, have fun with it!
