New Stamps 2: You’re Sublime

Aloha, all!

     The Stamp Set, You're Sublime, is a sittch!  I just love having at least one stamp set with fun images and creative sentiments. Nothing about this set takes itself seriously, and I smile every time I look at the images. Here are two that I made as part of a challenge to make something monochromatic and make it in less than an hour.

     Less than an hour?  I made these two in much less than that.  They are so much fun, espeially with two of Stampin' Up!'s newest In Colors, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush.  Actually, I thought of Cucumber Crush first because of the word "lime" in the name of the stamp set. One of the images in the set is a little submarine (thus the "sub" in sublime) and I first tried to envision that in a monochromatic card.  Maybe Tempting Turquoise?

     But I digress.  I really wanted to use the Cucumber Crush polka-dotted paper from the new 2015-2017 In Color Paper Stack. Then I looked at the little toad, and off I went!  Well, I had the new paper stack out, so out came the cute little crab.  I think I could just stand at my work table and make cards out of othese cuties for hours! Cards don't have to be fancy to make me smile!

     There are a couple of products in this project that do not really show themselves.  Did you know that Stampin' Up! now sells Whisper White THICK Cardstock? It's so much better as a card base than the regular Whisper White cardstock, which tends to bend a bit if my card is heavily embellished or layered (and I do layer!).  The other new product idea is that Stampin' Up! is packaging cardstock in packs of 3 colors to go with many of their Designer Series Paper sets.  I bought the Cherry on Top Cardstock Pack (8 sheets of 3 colors) because I could see myself using the three colors in that pack more than a pack of the In Color Cardstock pack would give me (4 sheets each of 5 colors). 

     Fun project!  If you're only going to get one "cute" stamp set this season, Your're Sublime is definitely the one!  Here's a picture of everything in the set:
