Aloha, all!
I don't think I've been as disorganized preparing for a trip as I was in preparing for my trip this month. There was SOOO much going on! In fact, the morning that I was to leave, I found that I did not have any time left to make enough cards to keep up with my blog posts while I was gone. That was not going to work as far as I was concerned. So I rushed to finish packing and get dressed and, presto, I found just short of an hour I didn't think I'd have!
But where to find some ideas for quick cards quickly?!
Those of you who've purchased the first of my three eBooks may recognize the general layout of this card. Where to find ideas, indeed! Go to my eBooks! I have them all quickly available to scroll through and just as quickly came across a card that just used strips of Stampin' Up! Designer Series Papers to decorate a card. There were a few embellishments in the original; but I didn't have time for frills. Paper, one stamp and a piece of ribbon – period!
One nice feature of this layout in the eBook is that I included the measurements of each of the strips, so I didn't have to take any time for that. I also didn't have time to fuss over which papers I was going to use. Howlstooth and Scaringbone papers were out on my table (which I was supposed to be cleaning up) so those papers were going to be it. All I had to do was pull out some Basic Black and Tangerine Tango Card Stock and there was my layout.
The stamp set, Wacky Wishes was also still out on the table, so that was also going to be used. But which "wish"? Aha! I had wanted a few cards to use to send some notes to my husband while I was gone, so "Thinking of You" was the definite choice. I stamped it on Very Vanilla Card Stock with Jet Black StazOn Ink, punched it with the Decorative Label Punch, and sponged it with some Tangerine Tango Ink.
And of course I had to tie it all together with some ribbon! This time I used a piece of the Tangerine Tango Scallop Dots Ribbon, which was a perfect accent for the graphic designs in this card.
Now – about the other two cards – stay tuned for how I took this idea and ran with it for two more designs with 30 minutes to go!
