Aloha, all!
And welcome to Day 5 of my series of greeting cards using Stampin' Up! Designer Series Papers that will be retiring next month. It's also a Friday, which means it's once again Sketch Frenzy Friday Challenge Day! Love the sketch as it's close to one I use fairly frequently. In fact, I used a very similar sketch just this past Wednesday in my project featuring the Etcetera Designer Series Paper.
I know you've seen this set of papers quite frequently on my blog as I really do love the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper set – and these are two of my favorite designs from the set. They go together so well!
To accent the floral print, I chose to use Midnight Muse Cardstock and the Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon mainly because I really wanted to use the ribbon with this project. The actual dark blue color in the print is Night of Navy, and there isn't such a nice card-making ribbon as the Midnight Muse ribbon. Besides, that ribbon AND the Midnight Muse Cardstock AND the Midnight Muse Classic Ink I used are ALL retiring next month! Unfortunately, the Midnight Muse cardstock has already run out, so I can no longer recommend that you purchase it.
I also cannot suggest you purchase the stamp that I used for this card, because it's not for sale! This deightful Mother's Day Stamp was offered exclusively as part of this month's My Paper Pumpkin kit. I'm especially liking the new My Paper Pumpkin stamps because they've been Photopolymer stamps, which are a deam with which to work. The only other large Mother's Day stamp I have refers to "my" mother having a Happy Mother's Day, and my mother passed away almost 10 years ago. But I do have daughters-in-law and a daughter and some sisters-in-law to whom I'd like to send mother's day cards. So this stamp may be just the ticket to my being successful at the mother's day cardmaking this year!
Here's the sketch for the challenge this week. Once again, I followed it pretty closely, turning those triangles into banners, cut from Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz Cardstock. I adhered all three banners together in the grouping I planned to use on the card, and ran them together through the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder before attaching them to the card.
Today is the LAST DAY FOR FREE SHIPPING AT STAMPIN' UP! This is your last chance to save 10% on EVERYTHING, retiring products and everything else besides! This offer closes just before midnight Mountain Daylight Time – but don't cut it TOO close!
