Aloha, all!
Once again I've made a card using one of the images from the Happy Watercolour Stamp Set. In fact, I made the flower for this card almost the same way I made it on the last card about which I posted earlier this week!
But I think the real highlight of this card is the set of colors that's in the Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper set. I've been so focused on the gorgeous papers in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog – and before that, the Holiday Catalog – that I've forgotten some of the great papers in the Stampin' Up! 2013-14 Annual Catalog!
This colors in the sheet of paper I used are Pear Pizzazz, Wisteria Wonder, Crushed Curry and Coastal Cabana. I chose to focus on the Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzazz colors for my project, which is part of the Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge this week. For the yellow color on this card, though, I chose to use So Saffron because it seemed to me to be a better choice for the more subtle colors in this card.
I stamped two pieces of Wisteria Wonder Cardstock with Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink and then cut them out, each a bit differently. One I cut out whole and I just cut two of the higher petals on from the second. Using Stampin' Dimensionals, I adhered the whole flower to the center of the layer that I'd cut with the Window Frame Collection Framelits. Then I added the two petals using Mini Glue Dots. I stamped the flower again using Crushed Curry Classic Ink on So Saffron Cardstock, cut out the center and added that to the flower with more Mini Glue Dots.
I used the smallest of the Window Frame Collection Framelits to cut the piece of So Saffron Cardstock on which I'd stamped the sentiment from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set, again using Elegant Eggplant ink.
As I often like to do, I tied this project together with a bit of ribbon, this time I cut a piece of Pear Pizzazz 3/4" Chevron Ribbon and added it at the bottom of the larger element. Such a nice complement to the chevron design in the Designer Series Paper!
Sketch Frenzy Friday is open for business, and I hope you'll enter this week's challenge! I'm definitely having fun with this group!
