More Fun With Retiring Papers!

Aloha, all!

     I've mentioned before that I was going to try to use up as much of my retiring Designer Series Paper sets as I could before they all go away June 1st.  But I totally forgot that the little Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack that's in the Celebrate the Everyday Catalog will also be going away.  I said little, but it's little only in the size of the pieces of paper (4-1/2" x 6-1/2"), not in the number of sheets in the stack (48).  I love these paper stacks because they're so friendly for card making!  I don't have to cut into a big ole' piece of 12" x 12" paper just to get a 4" x 5-1/4" layer for a card.  Best news is that there are going to be TWO of these little stacks in the new annual Stampin' Up! 2014-15 Catalog.  They are definitely on my wish list.

     This card has two of the sheets from the Fresh Prints Designer Paper Stack, one on the bottom layer of each side of the card and one on the top layer.  I thought that the wavy design on the Real Red sheet at the bottom was a fun accent for the curves on the flower that I stamped in the middle element.  The colors in the top sheet are Real Red, Crumb Cake, and Coastal Cabana.

     I picked all three of these cards for color in the central stamped element.  I stamped the flower from the Flower Shop Stamp Set using Real Red Classic Ink.  Then I colored it in with a Coastal Cabana Stampin' Write Marker, and added a Crumb Cake Candy Dot to the center.  This stamp set has a punch that coordinates with it, but I thought there were enough layers in this card that I just did not need to make another with the flower.

     The two little circles at the bottom of each side of the card were stamped on Crumb Cake Cardstock in Real Red ink with stamps from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set and then punched with the 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch.

     As you've probably figured out, this is a gatefold card.

     I created the diagonally oriented square element with three layers, starting from the bottom 2-3/8" square (Crumb Cake); 2-1/4" square (Real Red); 2-1/8" square (Coastal Cabana); and 2" (Whisper White for the stamped layer).  To help me place the element correctly on the left side of the card, I used my Stampin' Trimmer and scored a line down the middle of the bottom layer on the back.  Then I  applied SNAIL adhesive only to the side of the square that would be adhered to the card front.  Finally, I carefully placed my card (right side down) onto the square.
