Aloha, all!
I wrote this blog post to be part of a month-long share that those of us who belong to the group, VC Rocks, are undertakig to close out our annual summer online get together. VC stands for Virtual Convention, and it's made up of people who like to share Stampin' Up! fun as a continuation of the fun that many of us have at the "real" annual summer convention. Our focus this summer has been on products that are new in the Stampin' Up! 2013-2014 Catalog. I could not for the life of me figure out which products in the new catalog that I wanted to feature. So I picked a bunch, and used them to show off the Lattice Fold card that's been popular with some groups this year. I've done a Lattice Fold before – for my 2011 Stampin' Up! swap cards. But the way it's being shown this year is a bit different from what I did back then.
For my first card, I placed the lattice at the side of my card. The New Catalog Products in this card include: the Designer Series Paper, I Am Me; one of Stampin' Up!'s newest ribbons, the Chevron Ribbon; the new Hexagon Punch; and the new Stamp Set, Six Sided Sampler. For this card, the "bit of the old" is So Saffron and Calypso Coral Cardstock. The ribbon I used is Calypso Coral, and I used Calypso Coral and So Saffron ink on the stamp. To get the mat for the hexagon image, I stamped the two stamps from the Six Sided Sampler and then hand-cut them along the edge of the image. Then I punched a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock out with the Hexagon Punch.
For the second card, I cut the lattice out of the middle of a piece of Designer Series Paper and made that the top layer of the card. The New Catalog Products for this card are the Birthday Basic Designer Series Paper, Crisp Cantaloupe Cardstock, one of the dies from the Chalk Talk Framelits Set, a stamp from the Stamp Set, Wetlands, and some Wild Wasabi Candy Dots. The "Bit of the Old" in this card is the Raspberry Ripple Cardstock, which is one of last year's Stampin' Up! In Colors (still a current color, though).
This weekend I'm teaching a class using the designs for both of these cards. By the time I'm finished getting ready for my class I'll have a tutorial sheet done for both of these cards and will post it as a link to this blog post. It should be online by Monday night – so check back here on Tuesday morning if you're interested in these designs. UPDATE! Here is a link to the page about both of these projects, including a link to a set of instructions as well as to the templates for cutting the Lattice Folds for both of these cards.

very cute cards!
I really like your ideas, very cute but what did you use to make the lattice work on the sides and then in the center…. Did you use the Chevron Border Punch on pg 23 of the Holiday Mini….. Very cute where ever you got the lattice from… thx for sharing
I like what you did with the chevron punch! I was here looking for your clue in the Late night stampers treasure hunt.
