Aloha, al!
While I do have a Facebook business page where I share my own and Stampin' Up!'s specials, I also have a personal page where I share what's got my attention at the moment in my life in general. Earlier this week, I posted this photo on my personal page.
This is a photo of the garden that I see from the front lanai – or porch depending on where you live. It's also part of the view that I see from my Craft Room – every morning of the week.
So why am I posting this today? It's because I wanted to share with you something for which I am very thankful, and which would not be possible if I didn't have my own home-based business related to my paper-crafting. If I had to go somewhere else to work, I would not be able to stop every once in a while during the day to enjoy this beautiful botanical garden that is part of my own home.
And this doesn't get boring. As I was looking at this photo this morning, I realized that I'd not even noticed the lovely pink orchid up in the tree to the right. Each time I look out, I notice something new. Like that bromeliad between the two Manila Palms towards the right. I never noticed until yesterday that this looked like a fountain – right in my own yard!
Of course I cannot stare out at the garden all the time. There is work to be done, even though it feels like play when I start creating cards and scrapbook pages and tutorials. What that does for me is to help me earn a bit of extra money, and I don't have to travel away from my home to make that happen.
So today, on Thanksgiving Day in the United States, one of the things for which I am so very thankful is that I have this opportunity, to work at home, earn a bit of extra money, and enjoy my garden.
Do you have something about your home that you really enjoy and don't want to leave to go work somewhere else? If this appeals to you, you might want to consider becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. You can make your business what you want it to be. With the internet and all the social media available these days, you definitely can structure your business to your own idea of what you want it to be.
