Aloha, all!
I'm actually getting some St. Patty's Day cards done on time to mail out this year! We have a lot of Irish background in our family, so I really do like to send them!
Today's card features the 2013 Spring Catalog Stamp Set, Henry Says. While the set has lots of specific holidays featured in it, St. Patty's Day is not one of them. So I made my own!
To begin, I wanted a light colored print to use for Henry himself, and I decided I liked the print from the Twitterpated Set of Designer Series Papers. If you look at the catalog, you'll see the green paper, but you won't see any mention of the color green. The reason is that this paper set was originally a part of the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog and was carried forward to the annual 2012-13 catalog, including the retired color, Pear Pizzazz.
So anyway, I stamped Henry onto the Pear Pizzazz print using Jet Black Stazon Ink and then cut him out. For the Shamrock, I stamped the image from the stamp set, Got Treats, on the back of the green print – also using Stazon Ink – and then cut it out. I used my Black Stampin' Write Market to ourline the shamrock just a bit.
To give the card a bit of texture, I created a layer of Gumball Green Card Stock and texturized it with the Honeycomb Textured Impression Embossing Folder, matting it with another layer of the Pear Pizzazz print. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set. And it will be in tomorrow's mail!
This is too CUTE!
