Aloha, all!
It's finally St. Patrick's Day and here is my last card for this year's Wearing of the Green Season! There just didn't seem to be enough time to get all the St. Patty's Day cards made that I wanted to have made. But those that I did make I hope will make someone smile when he or she opens one
The sketch for this Garden Green and Whisper White card was a challenge sketch on one of my favorite Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Websites, SUDSOL. Fellow demonstrator, Christyne Richardson, made the sketch and at once I knew it would be another St. Patty's Day card! As with my previous two St. Patty's Day cards, I've used the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog Stamp, Lucky Shamrock for the main element. After than, everything else about this card is a first time for me. The Designer Paper on the bottom is from the Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper set, Woodland Walk. Nice paper to accent a bit of greenery like the shamrock!
The Whisper White Layer is stamped all over in Garden Green with the little shamrock from the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set, So Happy for You. Have you looked at that stamp set?! It is so full of greetings and images to mix and match it's going to be hard for me to stop using it once it's no longer a current Stampin' Up! product! But I hope you're able to get it for yourself and keep it around for a long time – it's just so versatile! And you know how to get a FREE set of these stamps, don't you? Just place a Stampin' Up! order of $50 or more – online is great!, just click on Shop Now when you get there – and you get to pick one item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog for FREE!
But back to the stamped Whisper White layer. To make the design, I used the little shamrock from the So Happy for You stamp set and just twisted and turned it a bit to make it look more like my own personal designer paper! For the first go round, I inked up the stamp and stamped right onto the white card stock. For the second pass, I inked up the stamp, stamped it first on a sheet of scrap paper, then stamped it on my card stock for a lighter look. Finally, I ran that whole layer through the Sizzix Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.
The whole card is layered up with a Whisper White Greeting card base, and then a layer of Garden Green. Here's the layout, courtesy of Christyne and with the measurements that I used for the card. The circle element in my card was made using the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch (the Garden Green layer), and the 1-3/4" Circle Punch (the stamped layer).
And on St. Patrick's Day, be sure to wear some green! And sure and behorrah have fun with whatever you're doing!
