Happy Halloween – Part 1!

October 30, 2017 by Robin

Aloha, all!

As Halloween has approached, I haven't done much in the way of card-making because I'm still dealing with the repercussions of having a broken foot. That means that I've pretty much been concentrating on making my Christmas Cards because I may be out of commission for a while in late Fall if I have to have surgery. And Christmas cards HAVE to be handmade for the most part to get into the mail from this house!

But – I made some Halloween cards earlier in the season for my monthly card-making class, and today and tomorrow I'll share two of them with you.

Both of these cards feature the Stampin' Up! Cat Punch, and both punched images are taken straight from the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper set. I love it when Stampin' Up! coordinates products for us like that!

Not only is the cat from the Designer Series Paper set, but so are the rest of the Designer Papers on the card front. The spooky tree in front of the moon (thus "spooky night") is a 3" square cut out of one of the other sheets in the set. I love how the cat looks sitting in front of that spooky scene. In fact, one of the people in the class adhered her cat so that it looked like it was sitting on the trees branch. Very spooky, indeed!

The two striped pieces of paper are designs that, while they're in the Halloween paper set, can be used all through the Fall, and I'll be doing that, as I'll show you on Wednesday morning.

The Halloween embellishments this year are lots of fun, too. I especially love the Vintage Crochet Trim that I've tied into a bow on the card front. The "happy halloween" sentiment is from the oldie but goodie Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set, and I punched it out using the Classic Label Punch.

I'm sure you can believe that tomorrow's card will also feature the Cat Punch (I do love cats). But the card is not at all like this one!  So check back on Halloween!

Robin Messenheimer

I have been stamping and paper crafting for over 30 years, and have been an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 14 years.

My favorite part of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is teaching others to enjoy crafting themselves. Not only do I conduct classes in person, I write tutorials for teaching anyone who has internet access. No matter if you're in my area in The Villages in Florida or anywhere else in the world, let me know if there's something you'd like to learn! Read More…
