Aloha, all and a very Happy Easter 2010!
Easter is going to be quiet at Hale Messenheimer this year. We've just finished a week-long visit from our son and his family, and look forward to some quiet time this week. But I can't leave you without an Easter card!
I know this is an Easter Card – but the layout is one that you can use successfully for just about any occasion for which you might need a card. I especially like the use of my current favorite Designer Series Paper, Tea Party. There are so many different colors in this set of papers that you can use just about any ribbons and brads that you have from the Stampin' Up! product line to make this the perfect card that you need.
Besides the layout measurements, you should pay attention to the use of Stampin' Dimensionals to make the central motif of this card stand out from the background. I know that lots of people like to use the same color of brad to accent a card. But the Tea Party Paper just cries out for the use of different color brads from the Soft Subtles collection. Finally, don't forget that Stampin' Up! has some lovely So Saffron Ribbon as part of the Elementary Ribbon Originals collection. Nice touch, I think!
Here's the basic layout for the greeting card. Note that the Scallop Trim Border Punch is not available at this moment. It was in the Sale-A-Bration catalog and will definitely be in the new 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog. If you didn' select the punch as a prize during Sale-A-Bration 2010, you'll still have the opportunity to purchase it later this year. And there are other current punchs from Stampin Up that will make the lovely scalloped edge at the bottom of one of the layers!
Here are the measurements that I used for this card. The layout really does work for lots of occasions!
