Happy Easter!

March 30, 2013 by Robin

Aloha, all!

I really did do more Easter Cards than I've posted, but this one, my last one made using the set, Everybunny, makes me smile every time I look at it.  I made it for my youngest grandson who, with this two sisters, has a flock of egg-laying chickens.  And they love those chickens!

Now, granted, their chickens are a bit larger at this point in their lives.  But they were this small once upon a time, and there are lots of cute pictures around!

I've found that the last few cards that I've done have taken me back to my layering of Designer Series Papers.  This particular card was part of a challenge with some layering as part of the challenge, and I really enjoyed getting back into that.  Now with Easter about over with for the year, I'm going to start pulling out the stamp sets that I'm going to be using over the next few weeks and try to come up with some fun layering.  AND I'll be sharing sketches with you again.

For this card, I used the Designer Series Paper from the Spring Catalog, Sunshine and Sprinkles.  I used Marina Mist Card Stock as my background layer and texturized it with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder to give the background a bit of interest.   I stamped the bunny on Whisper White Card Stock and then punched it with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, matting it with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch.  The greeting, also from the Everybunny set, I punched with the Modern Label Punch – fits perfectly!

And I'm still up to my old "trick" of tying my whole card together with some fun Stampin' Up! Ribbon, this time the Marina Mist 3/8" Striped Organdy Ribbon from the Stampin' Up! 2013 Spring Catalog.  Fun way to finish off the card!

I hope you're having a wonderfully Springy Easter Weekend!  It really is starting to be Spring around so much of the United States! Here it's cloudy and rainy.  But, hey, it's Hawaii!  No matter the weather, it's always beautiful!

My favorite part of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is teaching others to enjoy crafting themselves. Not only do I conduct classes in person, I write tutorials for teaching anyone who has internet access.
