Aloha, all!
Well, even if this blog post is a day late, we did get the card in the mail to our oldest granddaughter, Morgan, in plenty of time for her January 29th birthday!
Yes, indeed – Happy Birthday is written all over this card, even if the words aren't exactly there! This stamp set is one of those that you can get FOR FREE as part of this year's Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration promotion! Before I go into the "how" you can get this set for free, let's look at the other products in this card.
The second best product is the brand new Brithday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper. I just LOVE the colors in this set and I REALLY LOVE the Gold Accents on the sheet with the balloons. I tried hard to get that gold to shine in the photo, and there's one shining really well just to the right of the center layered element! It definitely was special to add some gold to Morgan's card!
I got the idea for using Stampin' Up! Blendabilities Markers for this project from one of the samples that's right in the 2015 Sale-A-Bration Catalog! To go with the colors in the Designer Series Paper, I used Calypso Coral and Bermuda Bay Blendabilities, along with my Daffodil Delight markers. The "yellow" in the paper design is Crushed Curry, but there are no Crushed Curry Blendabilities – yet! I'm hoping for ALL the Stampin' Up! colors eventually to be carried in the Blendabilities line.
The main cardstock I used for this card is Whisper White Cardstock, and I stamped the images using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Both of these are recommended as the paper/ink to use when you are going to be including Blendabilities – which are alcohol-based – in your project. To mat the stamped element as well as the front background paper, I used Bermuda Bay Cardstock. Then finally I tied my whole project together with some Crushed Curry 1/4" Polyester Ribbon, part of FREE Accessory Pack in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog.
There are quite a few products in this project that you could get FOR FREE during Sale-A-Bration, including the Stamp Set, the Accessory Pack (which includes ribbons and buttons in three colors), and even two of the three sets of Blendabilities. All you have to is to buy $50 worth of Stampin' Up! products – any products! – and you can pick one FREE product for EACH $50 you spend! One of my friends just hosted a workshop and each of the people who attended purchased products from both the 2015 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog and from the 2014-2015 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. And ALL of them received a free item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. That was a fun order for me to put in!
How about you? Do you have a few friends that might like to get together for a fun time stamping and order some Stampin' Up! products! I'd be more than happy to help you out, even if you're not near where I have my craft room. Just send me an e-mail or give me a call (the e-mail link and my phone number are up at the right!) and we'll get the planning started!
And now here's a summary of the products I used in this project. Those with a $0.00 price you can only get FREE through the Sale-A-Bration Catalog!
