Aloha, all!
I've finally gotten around to making some fun Halloween cards! Can you say, "Last Minute"? Well, it's not exactly the last minute. But if I'm going to get cards in the mail, I'd better be on it by now, or people will be getting Halloween cards for Thanksgiving!
To begin, every year I tell myself I'm not going to "waste" time with Halloween cards when I could be spending my time getting my handmade Christmas Cards done. But then, every year Stampin' Up! puts out a Holiday Catalog with the CUTEST Halloween stamp sets! This year has been no exception, and I have just fallen in love with the Jar of Haunts Stamp Set. There are lots of other cute sets in the Stampin' Up! 2016 Holiday Catalog; but Jar of Haunts is the one set I chose for most of my Halloween cards. There's another one, but I'll be sharing that with you next week, after I get through playing with the jars!
So on to this little critter – something in this jar is mummified, but what is it? Ah, that's where your imagination comes in! Certainly, this jar is in a bit of a spooky place with all those little spiders hanging around the brick wall and fall colored "wood slats." And I love the "spooky treat for you to eat" greeting. So my imagination says that this is a carefully decorated jar of yucky green jello – tasty, but it would take a bit of courage for me to get by that first spoonful! Oooh, and I know exactly who will get this particular card. My niece, Margie, is a Halloween specialist, and I could imagine her having something like this lying around on a table somewhere during her annual Halloween fest. That's a party I'd like to attend every year! But it's 6,000 miles away, so I consider myself lucky that I got there at least once.
All of the stamped images in this project are from the Jar of Haunts stamp set – except for the jar lid, which is in this year's original Stampin' Up! jar set, Jar of Love. There are even framelits to go with the Jar-style stamp set – the Everyday Jar Framelits Dies. I used that to cut out the jar and its lid.
The papers in this card are both from the Halloween Nights Specialty Designer Series Paper set. The washi tape that I used to decorate the area behind the jar is from the Halloween Night Designer Washi Tape set.
So with this card, and the others I'll be sharing between now and Halloween, I am ready to get cards in the mail! Here are the products I featured in today's card. It's not too late to get online and order them from my Stampin' Up! store. Just click on a photo to get more information about each product and order it to be sent directly to you!
